Entry #A-7: "Artisan" [Text, Action]

[There is a lot going on right now. Murders in Vegas, police trials staggering to shameful conclusions, and L's own latest case- which he's technically no longer supposed to be investigating, but is- are all very distracting.

It's not like he needs sleep or anything, though; the coffee shop's construction is right on schedule. It just finished, in fact. As promised, he's taking a break from perusing Greek newspapers to make an announcement... and to remind the people who said they'd help a couple weeks ago about their commitment.]

Construction's done on the coffee shop and these are the open temporary positions I need filled immediately.

Movers: Basically just move objects from point A to point B. Some of them are heavy.
Painters: Solid colors and also a mural.
Promoters: Hang out at Urban Outfitters and craft bars to hand out posters and spread the word.

These are the permanent positions I'm taking interviews for starting this evening. Experience is a plus, but not necessary unless otherwise noted.

Manager: Experience required. Job entails scheduling workers and running the shop.
Assistant Managers: Hiring two. Need to be equally comfortable behind the counter and dealing with paperwork.
Baristas: Hiring up to 8 for now. Duties include making coffee and food, running the cash register, and keeping the bathroom really clean.
Bartenders: Hiring up to three. Must be over 21; we have a full bar that opens at 2:00 each day.
Vendors: Sell your handcrafted items and help us support our boarded employees.
A fantastic accountant: Lots of experience mandatory
A fantastic lawyer: See above.

Numbered individuals get priority, obviously. As I mentioned before, if your living situation is complicated, there is an apartment upstairs with six cots, two showers, and lockers for personal belongings. Just mention it during your interview and we can put you up as soon as the cots are upstairs.

Respond here or drop by in person. I'll be at the shop all day today, and... honestly for the next week I'll be there almost constantly.

[And, in fact, he will. He's been neglecting his sleep, though, so when you stop by the newly constructed Espresso Yourself, you're likely to find him dozing on the lone sofa in the empty expanse of the shop, practically buried in paperwork.]

I wish I had the experience to be a Barista or help out in another area, but at the very least I could certainly help promote your shop! I'll take any job! Even temporary!

Not hard. It takes a little bit of patience and a little bit of getting to know the espresso machine, but that's about it.

He's never really had much time for part-time jobs with all his sports practice, but if this is to help keep people in a home, that means it's a way he can do something, even without any nifty powers. And handing out fliers didn't sound like there'd be that much likelihood of incidents. ]

[In the corner, there's a Mr. Coffee plugged into the wall. He gets up, stretching his stiff, curved back, before shuffling over and doggedly brewing a pot.]

The application's more of a formality than anything, so... please have a seat. Tell me something about yourself.

I hope you're not under the impression that I blame you for that... but I appreciate any and all help that others are offering. It's a new business, despite being based on an existing model, and it's important that it has a strong start.

Aesthetics are probably what I'll need the most help with. I have no head for what colors look good together or how best to arrange decorative elements in the store... so maybe you could offer some advice in that regard. And once it's all finished, I definitely want art hanging in the shop, so... if you have paintings you want to hang, or put up for sale, that can absolutely be arranged.

The furniture's all arriving tonight and tomorrow. I've got a plumber to handle fixtures, like the showers and toilets and such, but I'm going to need a hand with the bar back and the cots and pretty much everything else.

[It's been about three days since Belle last remembers seeing traces of L around the apartment. The food in the fridge has not been touched, no new dishes have appeared in the sink, and the clothes in the hamper have all been her own.

And while having a few days to herself has not gone unappreciated, by any means, she came to find herself unsettled by the possible implications of it.

It's what brought her to the coffee shop-in-progress today to check up on him, a sack lunch in-hand. Finding the front door latched, she knocks on it firmly and peers through the glass for stirrings of activity]

[Though the door is, apparently, locked, it didn't close all the way when it was, leaving the measure worthless as it swings open under the slight force of Belle's knocking.

Inside, there's a harrowed-looking specter staring intently at the wall, dark rings around his eyes, seeming oblivious to Belle's presence.]
