Some thoughts.

This network was created just over a year ago, at the beginning of April 2013. Nobody knows how, or why, or by whom if there is a whom. People have noted echoes (or pulses, if you prefer that term) previous to that date, however, so it's possible that the echoes are tied into the nature of the network but not the cause or effect.

The logic behind it all is still unclear, however. Does everyone who receives an echo receive access to this network as well, or only a subset? Why are members of this network detectable in some way, by dogs or by chemicals? Why are we perceived to be a threat?

And I'm somewhat hesitant to go this far, but could there be some purpose to it all? The thought seems absurd, but at the same time I have doubts on whether it's all random. But assuming there is a purpose: what is it? Is the network's purpose and/or that of the echoes we receive to facilitate the achievement of that one, and if so what would happen if that purpose were to be fulfilled?

This is all speculative, of course. I'd be surprised if anyone had answers.

Any of the police or FBI on the network. We have several. I could ask Nick in particular, if you like. I see him regularly.

[Seeing as they kind of made out on his couch over spring break... yeah, he's kind of hoping "regularly" is still a thing.]

is it that hard for people to approach things unconventionally?
or is it just the whole grappling with events beyond ones understanding kind of thing

Yeah.
I got this weird book I can't read.
I don't even know what language it's in.

I'll ask him, then, and try to get back to you.

Yeah probably.
I'm not real big on reading anyway.

[Sure Nora, just casually admit that.]

I'll see what I can do :)

[And about a day later...]

Well, the snake statue at the police station is gone. So that's one less worry. Now I just have to wonder where it went :P

Why?
ghostly_heiress: (I got an idea)

You mean the one in December? That would be before my first Echo then.

Without David Proud, I don't know that they can alter the statues' messages. He was the one who made them. So at the worst, it's somewhere *else* telling people to trust the police. So it could be worse.
ghostly_heiress: (So just look this over)

[personal profile] ghostly_heiress 2014-05-13 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it would. I was still unaware of those things.

Which is odd when you think about it.
