003 - third luminescence ; armor and grails (backdated to 4/13)

[The feed turns on to a certain blond, standing somewhat close to the camera. She adjusts her webcam slightly before stepping back. She's dressed strangely, in what appears to be partial armor. And from the look on her face, she isn't quite sure what to make of it.]

So, I found this in my bag. I know I didn't pack it, because I don't remember having anything like this before I left. It's pretty light-weight considering [She moves around a bit to demonstrate] but I have no idea where it came from. I definitely wasn't expecting to find a breast place in my bag!

[But did the fabric underneath have to be so... tight-fitting? She felt awkward showing off her stomach and legs in something like that...]

I found something else too.

[She walks back up to the camera, reaching for something behind it, and pulling it out. A small, solid gold chalice, with simple etchings around the body of it.]

It's weird. I'm not sure what other me would have used this for, but I get this strange feeling whenever I hold it. I can't really explain. Has anyone seen anything like this? It looks like a goblet, but I can't for the life of me figure out why I would need something like this...

[She sighs.]

Anyway, I'm starting school tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous. I've never been to a public school before. What should I expect? I know there are a few people from LCHS, so some advice would be great. What teachers are good? Should I completely avoid cafeteria food? What are the need-to-know things I should, well, need to know?

I think so.

[She frowns a bit.]

This is the first time we haven't gone to school together since I can remember. It feels weird.

[ Harper plops her hands down in her lap, folding her fingers against one another. ]

It is weird, a little bit! I suppose that's the trade-off, to have you staying here.

That's true. I get to see you every day either way.

[She still isn't quite sure about the whole public school thing. She's heard stories.]

[duette]

We'll still have our homework and study sessions, even if that sounds completely awful.

[ She taps her fingertips together enterprisingly. ]

So! Come on, out with it. What are you nervous about?

[You got her.]

I've known basically everyone in our class since middle school. Going to a school where I don't know most of the people in my class is a bit intimidating.

[duette]

Here we are, part of some stupid magic cult network, and still... [ A knowing half-smile. When she wanted to, Harper could be remarkably astute. ] Going to a new school is scary.

[ BUT PSH LIKE THAT'S GOING TO LAST. ]

But how many of us go to LCHS, now?

I know, it's really silly, but I'm still worried about if I'll fit in or not.

[Totally illogical, yes, but it makes perfect sense in her head.]
