003 - third luminescence ; armor and grails (backdated to 4/13)

[The feed turns on to a certain blond, standing somewhat close to the camera. She adjusts her webcam slightly before stepping back. She's dressed strangely, in what appears to be partial armor. And from the look on her face, she isn't quite sure what to make of it.]

So, I found this in my bag. I know I didn't pack it, because I don't remember having anything like this before I left. It's pretty light-weight considering [She moves around a bit to demonstrate] but I have no idea where it came from. I definitely wasn't expecting to find a breast place in my bag!

[But did the fabric underneath have to be so... tight-fitting? She felt awkward showing off her stomach and legs in something like that...]

I found something else too.

[She walks back up to the camera, reaching for something behind it, and pulling it out. A small, solid gold chalice, with simple etchings around the body of it.]

It's weird. I'm not sure what other me would have used this for, but I get this strange feeling whenever I hold it. I can't really explain. Has anyone seen anything like this? It looks like a goblet, but I can't for the life of me figure out why I would need something like this...

[She sighs.]

Anyway, I'm starting school tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous. I've never been to a public school before. What should I expect? I know there are a few people from LCHS, so some advice would be great. What teachers are good? Should I completely avoid cafeteria food? What are the need-to-know things I should, well, need to know?

Apparently! I had a feeling from the other echos I had been getting, but this really cinches it.

It feels silly being so nervous, but I can't help it. I wonder if I'll know anyone in my class.

The other me looks like he's medievally just because humans are running around with swords and bows, but it looks like it's actually post-apocalyptic. Medieval sounds like more fun.

I'm sure you'll find someone! It's rough being dropped in in the spring, though.

...yes. Sort of! Fewer humans, more ruins. Presumably there's actual intact city stuff somewhere, but I haven't seen any yet.

It's pretty grim! As expected of postapocalyptic. But sure! Maybe on my birthday.

Great! So, I'm assuming you haven't found out that much about other-you's world yet?

[She shakes her head with a sigh.]

Not so much. Even with what Ez knows, we still have no clue what kind of world the other us came from. It's a bit aggravating.

Hah... well, you guys did have some time off-network. It seems even with the kaiju-snake dead there's still excitement going on, too. You know more than you did, now. I just hope you won't have regrets.

No, I don't have any regrets. I don't know enough to regret anything.

I'm not sure how to explain it. It's not really weird, just... I guess you could say that it makes me feel a bit more powerful.

So... Would that help before you took a test, or on your first day, you think?

Not more powerful in that way. Like with my spells.

Aww, not the confidence kind of power. What a shame! Remind me of these spells, will you? I remember the invisibility.

Mostly light-based; I can create a small shield, snare people in place, throw explosive balls of light at people and... well, that too, but I've only done it once, so it might have just been a fluke.

Cool. So I guess those work better when you're holding this cup? What about if you drink something out of it?

[ladyofluminosity]

I don't know, I haven't tried anything like that yet.

Worth trying, you think? Hopefully worst case scenario there is you feel a little silly. And that's no bad thing.
