Video - April 13th

[Raye pops up on the network looking like her usual sunshiney self. She's got Senketsu with her in full today and, as is typical, he's keeping a curious eye on the network but otherwise staying silent.]

So... are we just not gonna talk about the friggin' aliens that landed yesterday or what? And am I out of my fucking mind or did they kinda sound alright to anybody else?

[She huffs out an irritated breath and moves to switch off the message for now, before pausing and adding]

Oh, yeah, and I remember somebody saying some of us get memories of the same shit so... does anybody else out there remember some evil clown lady with rainbow hair? Cause, I guess that's a thing I got.

[She notices the deepening color of her face and cringes sympathetically.]

Sorry, sorry.

Is there... anything different you can think of with how you're going about it now versus when we were fighting the snake?

I'm doing the exact same thing I did back then!

[She holds up her left arm to show the red glove on her hand.]

I pull the thing outta here, and he uses it to drink my blood, that's it! There's something wrong with him now though!

[There's a flash of frustration in Senketsu's eye. Whatever the problem is, it's clear these two are not on the same page.]

[They are clearly not, and even Lily can see that a bit.]

Okay, so there's that, but... what about you? I don't know, when I transform it's not just... flick a switch and its done. There's a certain thought and emotion to how to summon those powers, that I recalled from the original Cure Moonlight.

I get the feeling if I didn't have that, using that power would be... much more difficult.

[She's not going to say her powers require the power of love and light, but... well, they sort of do.]

How am I supposed to know? I wanted to take out the monster, just like I wanted to take out the snake.

[She pauses for a moment, looking down to meet Senketsu's gaze.] ... I'm not your damn translator-- [the eye narrows a little further] alright, alright! I'll tell her what you're saying.

[She folds her arms across her middle, eyeing Senketsu as the latter of the two focuses on Lily on the screen. There's a pause before she starts speaking again.]

'... Unfortunately, I still lack any memory of how I was created. ... From what I've learned through instinct, I know that when I am worn by Raye our combined power will manifest itself.'

[Another pause, Raye makes a face and hmphs a bit before continuing.]

'... However, Raye has yet to truly wear me since the first time we fought together.'

[Lily slowly, but steadily, leans back in her seat at this. Wait, wait. One important nugget of information she had been lacking up until this point:] He can talk? [Pause.] But... just to you...

[She comes back to her normal sitting position and readjusts her glasses.] Truly... wear you?

[She tilts her head curiously. Just what did that mean? After all, wasn't he wearing her right then? What was different between the snake and now? Besides the adrenaline, and the copious carnage...]

I'm... not entirely sure what he means by that either, I'm afraid... But that means there is something different...

[Lily's reaction is a little unexpected. What... oh. Oh, right. Kinda left that part out.]

Yeah, I don't get that either. I can hear him just fine but nobody else can.

[She sighs, tapping her foot. What the hell was so damned different between then and now anyway?]

Anyway that's all he's been saying about it. I'm not 'really wearing him anymore.' Just the same unhelpful bullcrap over and over again and that that's why he had to keep drinking up my blood.

Is it like... a psychic link, or something of the sort? Since I suppose you are connected to a pretty close degree, or...

[She shakes her head, Raye's sailor uniform being a perfectly sentient creature - while fascinating - was the least of their issues.]

I guess it goes without saying that you need to figure out what that means, but... [Sigh.] I wish I cold help more there. I'm as lost as you are.

No idea. I just hear him, plain as day.

[But yeah, she's right. How Senketsu can talk really is the least of their worries.]

Yeah, it's fine, never said it made any sense.

[A pause.]

Anyway, guess I'm off the team for now. Not really any good to anyone if I'm falling on my face after five minutes.

[Lily shakes her head once more.] No ma'am, I was practically inducted before I even got powers. This doesn't change anything other than you need to figure out how to fix it, right?

[She smiles.] I'm sure you will, as well. Just... be more careful for awhile, okay?

[Raye blinks, looking surprised for a moment before nodding a little bit before she nods with a small smile.]

Right. I'll work this out somehow.

I know you will, and if there's anything you need that'll help... just ask, okay?
