1. I'm starting to think it might be a good idea to see what is or isn't going on in Las Vegas, if anyone wants to come. I'm not flying, so probably we'll drive, or go by train, or something. It's going to be terrible but I don't want to kick up a fuss at the airport. If you want to come, eighteen years old or with parental permission, please, let's all have some common sense.

2. Is there anyone at all good at...I don't know. Electrical rigging. Wiring. Plugs and adapters and things. Making plugs and adapters and things fit into sockets they wouldn't ordinarily fit into, I suppose.

3. Vaguely related to #2. What happens when you're starting to think you weren't exactly human? I mean. At least, not entirely. Jury's still out on that one.

Are you worried about not being human?

I mean, if this is going where I think it might be going, then it comes with a few unfortunate implications.

Well, robots are programmed, for one.

Well, yes. Artificial intelligence functions under specific sets of parameters. Goodbye, free will.

What are the parameters?

[epimethean]

Depends on what it's programmed to do. That's kind of the point--artificial intelligence, no matter how advanced, can't function outside the parameters set down by its programming.

So you are worried about these parameters because... they would hinder you?

[epimethean]

Potentially, yes.

[vetala]

But you don't know if they will just yet. You could be extremely advanced or something. Aren't most A.I. in movies basically human anyway?

This isn't a movie, this is real life!

Half of us are turning into aliens, some of us have impossibly giant robots, several people are immortal. I don't think you'll have too much of a problem.

I'm not writing anything off, at this point, just because it's working one way for everyone else.

So you're not going to write off the other possibility either?

I'm just saying that mine is probably a little more likely.

I suppose. I don't know much about sci-fi. Horror and the supernatural are more along the lines of my interest.

Either way, I'm sorry that your changes are unsettling you. I feel the same in a sense.

It's okay. There are still a few ways this could go. I might stop at cyborg, for all I know. That would be all right by me.
