Holy crap, this month has been busy. I don't even have any poorly tasting mortician jokes to throw at you, numbers club. That's how you know it's been rough.

I guess we're not so secret anymore? I don't even know. I'm trying to keep my status as a member of this thing secret since I still work for the city and all. Not like it's been easy with all these FBI agents swarming around. I'm lucky nobody's tried running me through one of those full-body scans, huh? That'd be a huge red light.

Speaking of huge lights, if you're new to the numbers club, hi! My name's Brooke. I'm a mortician. Most of my work is on the up-and-up, but if past you was undead or anything like that, I can definitely try to help. Things keep going this way and it might be all I do. Anyway, look, sorry I've been gone for so long and sorry I couldn't help much in that big fight. I'm just... glad that I didn't recognize any of the decedents.

Oh my god, so there's actually something numbers-related happening in Vegas. I heard something about a pink light on the news, but honestly I just thought Tavia was making a series of terrible decisions.

...I wonder if we'll remember the echoes on our way to Vegas at all. I mean, not that I'm planning on going. Probably.

I don't care. I'm not that little, though. I'm 11 now.

I mean, I knew I wanted to be a mortician pretty early on, just... well, I saw somebody die in a car crash. So I guess it's kind of normal for me to be obsessed with this kind of thing. But I don't know if anything like that happened to you.

I guess it must be echo things, then? Or maybe it's just ineffable. Some kids like playing with toy dinosaurs, some kids like pretending they're zombies after the meteor hit.

Yeah. I'm sorry about that. I really meant to actually show up, but I didn't make it out of work until the aftermath and by then everything was already done. And I wasn't there for fun anyway, I was still technically on assignment.

Anyway if this happens again, I'll definitely contribute my powers to the fight. Before they contribute themselves for me, ha.

but i guess if work is super important you know thats fine too. someone will need to make sure i leave a beautiful corpse behind.
