We had Nabe tonight~! (≧∇≦)/

Well we're not celebrating anything right at that time...

Plus, I guess my auntie was in the mood to cook Nabe anyway.

Yeah, it's weird. Like if you write on a piece of paper, it'll connect. Or a wall or something could too. No one really knows how it works.

And being able to access it is always accompanied by something weird. Like suddenly getting a weird memory, or being able to do something you couldn't before. Or...something like this.

[He'll step back from the camera and will his belt to appear.]

[WELL THAT WAS DEFINITELY SURPRISING.]

W-Whoa...!

[He'll blink at that belt. How'd boss do that?

So the numbers come after he got something weird, right? Now that he mentioned that too...]

...A weird memory huh? Yeah, I think... I got one of those twelve years ago.

Twelve years ago?

[Dang. That is not at all what he was expecting.]

I only got mine a couple of months ago...you've had it for that long?

[There's a nod.]

Yeah. Just the day right after I moved into the city, I had this strange dream... Though it felt way too real to be a dream. Familiar, in fact.

I saw myself and a few more people fighting some sort of monster. It... looks kind of like some sort of insect, from what I could remember. But it was pretty big. Kind of like, six feet tall, I bet.

And now that memory's been ingrained into my mind ever since.

[Fighting...an insect...monster...a big insect monster. Six feet tall. HOW REASSURING. There's a bit of a twitch from Hajime.]

...what did the monster look like?

[He'd just...really like to know. He's just curious. Not because he thinks he's turning into a bug monster himself or anything, noooooo...]

Hmm... It's kind of vague. All I could make out is that it's huge, kind of frightening, and has a pair of pretty long antennas.

[VERY REASSURING.]

[Hajime goes slightly pale at the mention of the antennae, because, really, that was one of the defining features of his monstrous bug-man form. The long antennae. And the rest of it fit...

Just when he thought things couldn't get any more awkward.]

Do you remember how you were fighting it? What it was doing?

[Because it's not like he's trying to figure out if that was really him, of course not...]

Um, from what I could recall, it was making a lot of people suffer...

[....]

Though, I wonder... Why do you want to know about the monster anyway?

I...have a memory of a big bug monster running around terrorizing people.

[Making people suffer? YES that does sound similar...]

I kind of wondered if it was the same one.

Ehh? Is that so...?

[He'll tilt his head a bit.]

Were you fighting it as well?

[Fighting it? Try fighting as it.]

No, I was...just a bystander.

[Every bit of his body language here suggests that he's lying, if Al is observant enough.]

Ah, it must be scary remembering that, huh?

[After a brief moment of silence, he smiles.]

Well, I don't think we'll have to worry about it much then! It's not like that thing's going to come back or anything, right?

It's...unsettling. I'll give it that.

[Even if it scares him for different reasons than Al knows, there is no way he would ever admit he is afraid to Al of all people. He'll manage a weak smile.]

Yeah, not a chance...

[He is not at all certain about this. Not at all. Not since his blood changed and he had that vision of himself changing.]

That's the spirit, Boss!

[And that smile becomes a grin.]

Ah yeah, which reminds me... you weren't around last Thursday, and I heard you called in sick. How're you feeling now, Boss?

[He pales a little at that question. You had to ask about that, Al...]

Better! Better...still a little...er...I don't like to think about it.

[Which is the truth! The sad, sad, "I am still somewhat traumatized" truth.]

Is that so...? Well good to hear then! I was a bit worried...

[Hajime seems a bit surprised a the worry.]

I'm...fine. It was just a bug, really.

[Must have been a heck of a bug to make him look that pale at the memory of it...]
