A little while ago, my friend, Ban Ueno, posted here. We were receiving the same echoes and thought that perhaps we were the same person before we ended up here.

As of today, Ban has lost his echoes and I have a new one, and with it a new understanding of what was actually going on with our situation. Suffice it to say that our theory was incorrect; as far as anyone knows, it is still impossible for multiple people to receive echoes from one simultaneously. Our situation wasn't unique or enlightening, just superficially misunderstood.

If you encounter Ban, I would be appreciative if you did not mention me to him ever again.

There's always something more. Our previous lives belonged to actual, complicated people, and we're only getting fragments.

I think that might actually drive someone completely insane.

Being unable to separate it?

If our memories make us who we are, and we have two complete sets of memories from different lives... it would get very confusing and very frightening, very quickly. I think that one being would have to ultimately be the dominant one in that case and the other wouldn't be particularly recognizable to the people who knew him before.

Something like MPD or whatever it's called?
Is it possible this is just some insane mass hallucination?

Having never suffered from that, I don't think I can say for sure without presuming a great deal.

I can say that it's nothing like any hallucination I've ever experienced, though.

You know, only one question mark is really necessary.

If it matters, which I doubt, then yes, I have experienced hallucinations.

Both... and other. Only auditory, though, in those cases.

Other like...how, exactly?

Like, there are totally other ways to hallucinate.

If you want to know something more specific, you need to pose your question accordingly.
