[Coming to the other end of the futon, Lyall settles back down-- his laptop is on the coffee table, open but with a screen saver over the class notes and network screen that had been up before-- and asks,]

[[there's a long moment of quiet before Bakura reaches up behind his neck to pull up on the cord that's holding the lump in place, following it forward before pulling out a large gold pendant that was roughly in the shape of a dreamcatcher. Only instead of webbing in the center, it held a triangle with a wadjet eye on it.

The scent is clearer now. And complicated. Age and metal, heat, blood, death, traces of power now sealed away, and something utterly unidentifiable, if familiar.
