[ Obviously there's a struggle to hold the camera still. Two potentially familiar voices are in a scramble. Not that they just ran away from the hospital without formally checking Cat out of it. No one is really prepared to get a screen full of angry hamster face, but here it is regardless, overlaid with voices of sheer panic: ]

Holly! Holly! You don't understand! HE'S GOING TO MURDER ME! Look at his face! ... Can pudgy little cheeks look pissed off like that? Because he does and that's just freaky! You can even tell it's him.

[ Cat rushes into the camera view, blocking out the sight of the very annoyed rodent. He's clearly trying to balance this camera phone in his left hand and it's not the smoothest ride, but for now he'll cart it around with him as Holly and Cat attempt to contain the troublemaker.]

Okay, network. I.. could use some pretty urgent advice here. I just turned Skyler Veracruz into a— that's a hamster right? [ Cat turns away from the camera a moment to get Holly's mumbled confirmation, before turning back. ]

—Yeah, a hamster. Anyone familiar with magic... or .. hamsters. Just send a video or text or I'll meet you somewhere with him —Holly, where'd he go?

[ Another several moments of chaos pass as the camera jostles around before Cat's face pops back into view, Holly's head popping up behind his shoulder, trying to contain hamster Skyler from scrambling. The hamster looks positively dejected now. The look of disapproval is quite strong here, folks. ]

I'm hoping he'll calm down soon... Holly's already tried to change him back, if anyone has any clue how to take care of a .. human hamster... [ Okay, even Cat is starting to chuckle and laugh. After all Skyler has been a constant bully in the hallways for several years. If he'd known who was tagging along with Holly he might have declined the visit. Let's just pass the camera over to Holly for now. ]

Oh um- Skyler stop wiggling so much I don't want to drop you what if they have a cat here?- Yes um- Help would be great! Why does this always happen to me?

[ Cat cuts back in a moment later: "Here, hand him back to me." He'll have to hold the hamster between his cast and good hand meanwhile. Holly takes over the video again while Cat pokes at Skyler's chubby cheeks in the background. ]

Please help!

[ Just before the video cuts off you can hear Cat chuckling, "I think he looks better this way!" ]

Ah, well. Accidents are another thing entirely.

[Danny booked it over as fast as he could, flying invisibly from his home to the library before allowing himself in sight again. He wanders around a little bit, not quite sure where they are with Skyler, exactly, since "at the library" is actually a pretty vague description once you're actually at the library, but they shouldn't be too hard to spot!

Sure enough, Danny spots Holly, the only one in this little gathering that he actually recognizes, and alters his path to make it over to them. He holds up a hand as he approaches.]

Hey, I'm Danny. I said I'd come help out with the hamster?

Well...you changed him, so you can probably change him back. I mean, what good is the power to turn people into hamsters permanently?

Unless you reaaaaaaaally like hamsters, I guess?

[ Cat's head darts up from spacing out. For a moment he wasn't sure anyone had even spoken to him, but his attention raises to greet the new arrival. His right arm is still in a sling, a product of the massive battle with that huge snake just days ago. ]

Oh hey! Thank god. Nice to meet you, I'm 'Cat' Baker. This is Holly—

[ He quickly scoots his chair back as if he's going to stand, and fishes around on the ground for the troublemaker in the plastic ball. Of course it's super difficult to grab the thing with one hand so he has to nudge the other side with his foot and scoop it up that way. Cat's voice is hushed as he crowds toward the edge of the table with the hamster. ]

Here he is. You had ideas on how to.. change him back?

[ This will not bode well for sure. If he only knew Skyler's history with Danny. Not to mention the moment the hamster sets eyes on the other there will probably be a flurry of squeaks. ]

HUH. I guess some people have it much worse.

It sounds pretty cool, though? It'd be a good effect for movies or during Halloween.

[ That pissed the hamster off and Cat has started laughing, "No wait. You need to see this." A video pops up a moment later. The clip is very short, but apparently Skyler is done with this shit:]

[Grumbling:] Not a very good power.

Heh. I don't like 'em that much!

[The laughter abruptly stops, and there's another, longer pause. She sounds distracted when she speaks again.]

Between this and whatever the deal was with the dicks? Yeah.

[Snrk. Woops. Henry's laughing at that unintentional pun.]

That was really bad. But, I'll try doing stuff with bugs. See if my Truest Believer thing can do that with animals and not just stuff.

Man, my creepy-ass voice ain't even the worst thing I've got. But I won't bore you with details.

Yeah I guess! But nope. All the time.

[and with that Shiro lets out another peal of laughter] Oh my fuckin' god. That's brilliant. In his little ball and everything!!

[Okay that? That really is cute. Skyler is officially cute. You practically hear the smile in Karl's voice when he speaks again.]

Much as you may enjoy your fluffy sleeping companion, I'd rather you continue in your attempts to turn him back.

[ That was a pretty long pause and Cat has the keen sense that something has changed. He's just observant like that. Promptly derailed from his current thought process: ]

Are you okay?

... T-That sounds pretty corny! Is that what your magic is called?

Oh my god! You are brilliant!

Everyone was just suggesting to just picture him back normal or try to do some spell or something... I needed to touch him with my hand!

[She can't say she's surprised at this point.]

[ Harper barely has time to react to the chorus of sounds and emotions that runs across the line at point blank. For a moment she actually pulls the phone away from her ear to look at it quizzically after he'd announced the appearance of a matchbox.

Then, she hears all the yelling and nearly fumbles it, recovering only narrowly and whipping it back up to her ear. ]

Wh-What? Matches? You echoed matches — those don't have anything to do with lives! A-At least I don't think so... wait, how do you know you have nine, all of a sudden?!

Mm-hmm. Just remembered something. So how'd he end up a hamster, anyway?

A math teacher there, yeah.

There seem to be a lot of us... Hey you don't think we were all part of some genetic experiment babies or something, right? That would freak me out.

Ugh. I think so, honestly. I didn't have a wand or anything, but I definitely had magic. One pulse I got.. there were all these people rushing toward me and a few others. A man on my side.. of the.. garden.. [ Cat pauses as if questioning how sane he sounds right now. ] ...to be holding the big group back, but a few of the ones screeching and yelling at us definitely had pointed hats and old fashioned clothes.
