[This is the first time Alex has posted to the network in his other-self's body, and he's taking his time and choosing his words carefully. His stalk eyes are in and out of the webcam's field of vision, tipping and swaying, as if he'd rather not look it straight-on with them.]

< It's Alex. The one from LCA. So. I guess I look like this now. I mean. I can still morph--shape-shift. But this is the body I end up in when I want to change back to... I guess I have to call it normal now. >

< I pulse-echoed back some rules or whatever, too. If I stay in a form other than my 'real' body for more than two hours, I'm stuck there. Like, forever. >

[He does air-quotes on 'real'; the observant will notice that this body's hands have seven fingers each. Even without a mouth, his sulky frown is probably obvious.]

< My mom and dad are. Really not fans of this. >

[That's actually probably the most encouraging thing he's heard yet! Thanks for that. The no mouth thing was a little weird at first, but he's quickly learning to understand the expressions without it!]

Geeze, that had to be embarrassing. I'm guessing you didn't get any warning before the tail happened, huh?

< Just that weird pulse feeling. Like everything's sort of going wobbly, you know? And then it seemed like it would grow as a reflex, like fight or flight? But then I figured out what it felt like, and how to do it only when I meant to. >

So you do kind of get used to it, then? That's a relief. The whole pulse thing sure does mess with your head for a minute though, doesn't it?

< Seriously! And, like, it's weird every time, because every pulse is different. >

[He's still not sorry he's getting them, though he'd feel really dorky trying to explain why.]

And of course you can never really guess when it's going to happen, so it's always a surprise.

[Tony's still torn on the whole thing, but he's coming around. There's the cautious, survivor part of him that just screams to tuck tail and run because this is insane and ridiculous, and the rest of him excited about everything being SO COOL. How often do you get to be a hero of some kind, right?]
