Who: Randall Lyall, the wolf version, and OPEN
When: All night, starting two hours after moonrise
Where: Around the city
What: Full moon came a little early this month...

The full moon was on Friday. Lyall was prepared for it, had people coming in, had called Reilanin to see if she was coming, all that. What he was not prepared for was, two nights early, the moon rose and he felt it, felt the change starting without any warning beyond that. The ability to change outside of the full moon, without the control learned from centuries of fighting the change, came with it the drawback of having to fight it for all the nights around the full moon, as well.

He managed to make it off the couch and right into the doorway of his secured bedroom before he lost what little control he had left, and the wolf took over: the angry, hurting, moon-mad wolf who only wanted to attack, kill, and preferably eat whatever, or perhaps whoever, he could get his teeth into.

It took him a little while to get out of the house, once he'd finished healing, but one broken window later, there was a sandy-colored wolf prowling the streets, loose and hunting and completely unafraid of people.

The bullet hits, Lyall unable to dodge mid-leap, thudding into the meaty part of his shoulder. He yipes, and she'd sure better get out of the way fast, because now his leap is entirely uncontrolled, and he'll crash into her if she doesn't dodge.

She did not plan that very well. Melissa manages to dodge to the side, stumbling a little but catching herself on a nearby lamp post. It's not dead, obviously, but at least it's slowed down. If she gets a chance, she'll dig out her phone to call someone. She's not dropping the fun yet, though.

Lyall crashes to the ground somewhere behind her, giving another yelp at the uncontrolled landing. He rolls to his belly, panting and trying to get his bearings, before staggering to his feet. Melissa seems, for the moment, forgotten in the attempt to assess just what happened, as much as his mad wolf brain can manage.

Excellent. She'll use the time to call up animal control. She is not equipped to deal with this other than straight out killing the wolf, after all. Even though she's increasingly of the suspicion that this is not a normal wolf.

[professorwolf]

Not at all, no. He growls in her general direction, takes a step towards her, then stops and whines at the pain in his shot shoulder. He may be mad, but he's not entirely stupid, and that pain isn't going away. He takes a step back from her, this time.

Well, maybe it would learn to avoid guns now. And just to prove the point, Melissa will raise the gun again. Animal control is telling her not try and stay in the area with the thing after all.

He might. He might not. One never knows, with moon-mad werewolves. At the moment, though, he is definitely done with her. Maybe if he had a pack... but he's alone, and he can't destroy something that can hurt him without even touching him.

So he turns tail and lopes awkwardly away as fast as his sluggishly bleeding shoulder will allow. If Melissa stops to look at the blood, she'll find it thicker and darker than that of any living creature, as if it's slightly congealed, "old" blood. Not normal, for certain.
