Well, this isn't anything like anything I've worked with before. What is this, some kind of private program? Doesn't really explain those numbers any, but at least it's something I get.

Though I could really have done without whatever was doing that thing with the numbers in my head at 6am. I had JUST fallen asleep. Anyway, can anyone explain to me what exactly is going on? Is it one of those... I don't know, subliminal things? I'm pretty sure those aren't exactly possible, but then again, I'm no psychologist. Just your average minimum wage worker with a Bachelor's. This economy, am I right?

Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if someone would just tell me what's up with this thing. Otherwise, it's just gonna annoy me all night.

Uh, and if it could be a quick thing, I'd appreciate it. I have a shift at the bar in about an hour.

Well, let's be fair, a lot of things lately have been hard to swallow. It's a good thing the cops don't hang around this area, I guess.

So far it seems that way, yes, although I personally wouldn't count on that to last indefinitely.

And they'll involve our families, too, when they do. I mean, it's obvious they don't worry about that sort of thing.

I believe that is a safe conclusion based on the incidents so far, yes.

Well, it's-- no offense-- probably pretty stupid to believe it right off the bat, but I don't see what the point in lying about this sort of thing would be. It's not benefiting anyone to pretend there's a threat when there's not, in this situation, and unless you're really good at staging things, I can't see how there'd be any faking it. All the signatures on the video and images check out, too. [She'd checked.]

So I guess the question is, what's being done about it? I'm sure there's SOMETHING.

It also becomes considerably easier to believe when things begin to seriously affect your normal life, I'm afraid.

...as for what's being done, it may depend who you ask. We're not as well organized as we could be, I'm sorry to say; there's not a great deal of consensus on what course of action is best, although some people have managed to draw fairly good sized groups for specific actions (i.e. hunting the mutant wolves or destroying the statue).

At the moment, I don't know of any major action being planned.

I'd rather not let it get that bad. But then again, somehow I doubt life particularly cares what I'd rather.

I'm not really good at the hunting/destroying stuff/etc. Is there anything more computer-based being done, do you know? Or needing to be done, even? Information, that's more my specialty.

Though I'll be honest and say that I'm not really sure getting too involved is in my best interest. Still, it seems like no matter what it's only going to involve me if I don't involve myself first, and...

Well, what they did to that guy is just WRONG.

I'm not sure what the more technically minded here have in mind, but I don't think they're intending to sit idle, either. You'd have to talk to someone who knows more about it, I think.

Regardless of whether you involve yourself in any direct action, you're still likely to remember things or experience other changes anyway. It seems that getting close to anything strange is likely to trigger something, but I know that I, at least, have had things triggered under far more mundane conditions.

I'll have to make some quiet inquiries, I guess.

I think I already have once. I had a... I don't know what to call it, an "attack" of some sort I guess, a while ago when I first started thinking about the numbers that logged me onto this network. I'm thinking I'm not going to be all that thrilled to be experiencing it again, and even less so if I don't know what'll set it off.

Sometimes they aren't bad. Sometimes they're just...strange.

I'm currently in college for my Bachelors in Psychology, and that probably doesn't count for much but I can tell you this is nothing like what I'm learning in my classes. I thought at first that it might be some sort of false memory phenomena, but once this "Network" popped up that stopped working.

Good, so it seems like my degree isn't completely useless.

This thing is weird, though. I'm accessing it from my computer, but I can't place a pin on exactly HOW it's connecting at all. I mean, even when I'm not actively online, it's still updating and linked in. That shouldn't be possible.

Yeah, it's weird. I only ever use my phone or computer, but I've heard and seen people use things like mirrors or pieces of papers to connect.

Wait, what? Paper? Mirrors?

I'm gonna HAVE to try that. Is it only to this network?

Yeah. I think people might be able to see stuff you've written down, though, so it's probably good to scratch out your number somehow after you use it.

That's actually good to know. I'll... I don't know, shred it a few times. The office has a shredder no one else seems to use. I swear, it's like security is a second thought to the execs here.

I think shredding would work fine! Although burning does have a certain spy-thriller quality that sounds fun.
