I've had friends go over this computer, I've even taken it in to be looked at, and no one can find any trojans, viruses, software that doesn't belong. Fine. I can accept that for now, I've got unexplained access to some especially sludgy stratum of the undernet. I'm a big boy, I can keep myself well clear of bitcoinery.

What I won't put up with is this stuff about animals being kept for experiments in a farmhouse. If it's someone's idea of a sick joke, it needs to stop now. If it's real, we need to be the ones to stop it happening.

I've got a station wagon and I can scope out vacant or abandoned spaces where we could keep some of them. Some small ones could possibly live with me, depending what the other people in my place think. Who else can help with these animals? What resources have you got?

Anyone who gives a shit about animals being kept in cages and tormented as part of some sick drama, I'd like to hear from you. The rest of you can fuck off permanently, thanks.

This isn't a virus or otherwise; try the paper test if you haven't already.

I guess no on has explained to you why we haven't gone back yet, now have they? We are still unsure about the defenses in place. There are a couple rooms that we were unable to go into and there might be other alarms that could possibly be life-threatening. We need to be absolutely sure before flying out there to rescue those animals. In fact, we have to be absolutely sure that those animals haven't been changed into something else before we even decide to take them in.

Sounds like people could get far enough in to know the animals are there, and how they're being kept. If we, collectively, are good enough to get that far, we ought to be able to get the rest of the way.

The question is how, not when. If someone is trying to change those animals into something else [ Anders is getting louder ] that's all the more reason to act now, before more harm can be done!

You obviously never seen what the hairy virus people do to their hosts after a while, now have you?

The bigger ones look sorta like cousin itt. The smaller ones look sorta like someone took a tiny person, put a dandelion puff on it's head and painted it black. They infect people and animals and after a few hours to a few days or weeks , the infected change into weird forms and try to kill us.

Fungal, do you think? [ Those would make for some inexpensive costumes. Black paint and large pompons at the nearest craft store. Perhaps all these people are student filmmakers. ] And what happens to the infected at that point?

I've no clue. It's definitely not something you see everyday.

Has this been captured on camera, or does it only happen offscreen?

There hasn't been a lot of it happening where we can get a camera out even if we didn't haven't more important things to do like staying alive.

Oh, I don't know, people seem quite ready to film themselves going to kill "Blood Keys". In this handheld phone style, like a sad retread of Dogme 95. But with phones.

Possibly. That gives me an idea, though.

If these animals are real, and really suffering, and if we're unable to get into their enclosures but they have been seen, they must be visible enough to film.

We document their conditions, then post the footage on this network. People can't ignore that. It's been done before on inhumane farms -- activists infiltrating the operation and getting it all on camera.

And if it's all someone's stupid joke, we find a stuffed animal under a glass cake dome with "Bonsai Kitten" written on it, and we call it a day.

I like critters as much as the next guy, but this has "bad idea" stamped all over it.

Actually, no. If you think of them as critters, it's no wonder you don't care to liberate them.

Oh, it's a horrible idea, all things considered. People around here can barely keep their own business in order. Doesn't mean I'm opposed to rescuin' a few pigs or something.
