So first of all, I want to apologize for my, well, my rather abrupt message the other night. I didn't want to scare anyone, but I ended up doing that anyway. Long story short, while trying to help someone else here, I got stabbed. I'm okay-- [She holds her hands up for emphasis; her right arm appears to be bandaged.] I made it out a lot better than I could have. I managed to deflect it, for the most part.

But that's not why I'm posting. I had a dream that night, and the more I think about it, the more I think it might have been an echo. I can't remember a lot of details about it, but I remember a name: "The Field of Justice." I think I remember seeing others, but no real details about them.

I know, it sounds really hokey, and that's why I didn't want to say anything about it at first. It could have just been the pain medication I'm on, but you never know, right? Has anyone heard about anything like this; a place that champions of legend fight one another, with the same name maybe? Or even something similar? I feel like I'm grabbing at straws...

Generally the idea that I didn't volunteer, like it was a... side effect of having something else I wanted.

[She blinks a few times.]

That's weird. The impression that I got was that warriors weren't volunteered, they were summoned there by someone, or something. It's a bit hazy in my head, but volunteering for it doesn't feel right.

You think it was some kind of forced battle thing? I could believe it. I don't feel like I resent it quite enough for that to be the case though.

I don't know, maybe? I just remember standing there, a bunch of other people around me, and feeling proud to be there. Like it was a big deal.

Sounds like you actually earned your place there. Pretty sure I didn't.

[She pauses, looking down, lost in thought.]

Just that I was selected to fight. Well no, that's not the right word. More like deemed worthy, I guess. That's just the impression I get. I also remember that being a big deal for me.

Being honored to fight in an arena... that's a bit unsettling.

Oh, that's right. I think there's another one of us. I'm not totally sure, but she mentioned that a lot of this sounded familiar. I don't think she echoed from it, but still.

Her name is Sona. She's a Starling student, like Harper and I.

Sona? Really? She doesn't seem like the type to get into magic arena fighting.

Wait, you know her?

Yeah, I met her on New Year's Eve when I was out wandering. She's really nice, doesn't seem like the fighting type.

[And guess who was stuck at home on New Year's Eve.]

Yeah, she was waiting for the bus but it wasn't running so I helped her get home.
