Been scrolling through this thing for hours now.
This really needs a filtering function so I don't have to scroll through all the "this can't be real" or "this must be a hoax" bullshit. My wheel can't take the abuse.
So, right. It's too late in the night... Or too early maybe? To process all of this crap.
I'm going to bed.
Tell me why I should care to get involved or how I can avoid these pluses/echoes/whatever you are all calling them.

this is the secret numbers club. your life is going to get a lot crazier from now on.
text;
Well gee. Here I thought I was joining the secret baking club.
My mistake.
text;
this one just needs numbers.
there would be if there was actually a network here. this is just smoke and mirrors. you can tell because it appears when you write the numbers on a piece of paper.

I've been here before, so I'll save you some reading and ruminating:
"Why should I get involved?"
I can think of plenty of reasons not to get involved, honestly. Investigating any of the weird shit happening to us seems to inevitably involve poking around abandoned subways and shady parts of the dead district, or running up against the police.
But - and this is the fun part - you're kind of damned if you don't: Most of the cops are on the enemy's side, and they're looking for us. They'll make up a reason to book you if they have to, and if they bring you in you might not walk out of the station. There's other stuff out there too, like snake statues, weird mutant animals, giant, living hunks of pink rock moving beneath the towers, etc, etc., so you'll at least want to keep checking the network to see what to watch out for this week.
So those are your options: Be proactive and help us with whatever it is we do here, or keep your head down, play it safe, and hope the cops don't get you with a mutant sniffer dog or something.
Point two: "How can I avoid these pulse-echo-whatevers?"
As long as you're in the city, you can't. I've tried, you just can't. You figure you'll avoid network stuff so you don't see anyone's weird echo-triggering power displays, but then next thing you know, you get in a argument with a thirteen-year-old on the internet and that's significant enough to trip one anyway. You never know what'll give you an echo, so you might as well accept that you're going to get them as long as you're here.
If you leave, you lose what you have, as well as the memories of the network. So if you've echoed back kaleidoscope eyes and crazy powers, those are gone when you're past city limits. I can back this up - and so can half of the network, so it's not really unique, but there you are. If you're lucky, you might just forget and revert on your own while you're still in town. Some people 'come back' from that, but some people don't. So, those are your options there: accept it, move out, or hope you forget on your own.
Welcome to the club, kid.

Most helpful thing I have read tonight.

That's about as helpful as I'm going to be, though - I just got back in town a few days ago and I probably missed some shit, so you're still going to have to scroll through a month of 'oh my god are you guys serious lol' and so on.
And accidental posts.
God, at least you logged in here on purpose.

anyway, to answer your question, there's not really a way to avoid them from what i've seen. i only managed three days before someone else posted to the network and triggered a whole flood of them

Read enough of those and so what if it's hard to believe? It's pretty obvious not everyone could keep this up for so long if it was just a joke.

I never thought about not getting involved because I want to know the answers. What's really happening to us and why us and did someone cause it and if so who?? Trying to pretend this stuff isn't happening won't make it stop. I'd rather look for the answers than not!

Like I said. I sort of like my life as is.
