[Alex seems to have forgotten (it's possible he never knew) that having his mouth crammed full of cinnamon buns makes him even more incapable than usual of making sounds that resemble words.]

Ffnnly, mm yusffl phhlse!

It's what happens with items, apparently! I tried it out with a feather... See if they reappear in a couple days! Undigested.

...I hope.

Maybe! You destroy anything you eat, after all.

I guess!

Maybe he's just not big on material possessions. Until I got this locker thing I assumed my guy liked to travel light. -but I don't really see anyone deciding to carry something like this around anyway.

Probably. But maybe he wasn't big on knicknacks in general.

There's just a little candy-candy. It's more, mm, chocolate covered coffee beans, sunflower seeds with like a candy shell, some peanut stuff. that kind of thing. [and un-candied stuff.] But yeah - not like a tall thin sort, but the boxy kind. You get those in some schools.

Hah! Well, I've had worse. Though as I've gotten older I've gotten a lot more tolerant of being given new socks and ugly sweaters, I gotta say.

Oh, sure! But not all books are created equal. Manuals on Windows Ninety-Five and Ayn Rand books would be a pretty good updated version of coal, don't you think?

They have a little taste! But even aside from that, it's sometimes better to get gift cards for books. You never know what people think you might like - or if they know, they just give you extra copies of things you've already got.
espigeonage: (💕If only wishing would make it so)

They are.

[this is kind of a sensitive subject, but he does his best to not let it on.]

Nah, nah. I'm not in contact with my father, and my mom's out west. My sister and my niece moved out to live with her when things here started to get too exciting. They sent me a package and we skyped for a while.

[a teasing note sneaks on in.] Nah, I spent a good chunk of Christmas Eve with Strider and got the greatest gift of all: a salary. No more am I a volunteer with extremely flexible duties! I am now an employee with extremely flexible duties. Oh, adulthood.

S'alright, he's a jerk anyway. [That part's not sore, usually.] Everyone's got one like that, right?

And thanks! Yeah I'm pretty attached to that place. Even with all that's happened. [...meaning getting shot.] I'm kind of drawn to little clinic type things anyway.
