[There's a brief moment of audio. There's a bit of background noise, but not a lot. Louder than the rest is the voice of a very panicked girl.]

Ah, I'm terribly sorry, sir, but, um... The cash register seems to be malfunctioning. I'm not sure what's... I think I pressed the wrong things, I'm really sorry.

...w-what the...

[There's a different voice, a male one, but he's barely audible. The girl speaks up again after him.]

N-No, everything is alright! I'll just-

[The audio cuts out. About an hour later, a text post follows.]

Um... I guess I should be polite and introduce myself? My name's Cerise... but Cherry is fine too, everyone calls me that. Anyway, could... someone please explain this to me?

I mean, what kind of network is this even? I thought it was fake or something... Not that I wanted to doubt anyone or anything, it's just a little unbelievable. But how did it just show up on my cash register?! I don't get this at all...

Yeah, somehow it's been kept hush hush, though hell if I know how with how much has happened...

Well, maybe more than a little. I'm just not sure how to react to this. It's a lot to take in.

I... guess the police must be covering up the strangest things, if what that link says about them is true? God, even typing that seems weird, I feel like I'm going crazy.

But yeah. It's a pretty big shock. Especially when you're waking up in the middle of this mess.

Might be a good idea to scroll back and bit and skim over some of what's gone on before. Because they are that bad. If not worse.

I'll try that. It can't hurt, at least. I mean, I'd rather not be involved with this at all, but I should at least try to inform myself. [As much as she doesn't want to. She really, really does not want to.]

Not anything you have a choice in. Only way out of the club is to move. Then you get to be oblivious and unable to do a thing to stop what's happening.

I couldn't move even if I wanted to, so that's out. I guess I really don't have a choice, then.

You can. Give it time. Even if it's just not being oblivious and helping out in little ways when people need it, you can help.

I'm not sure if that's comforting or worrying. Maybe both.

Kinda like the fact that the vampires, werewolves, zombies and horrible bug monsters are on our side.

This is getting weirder and weirder every second. Someone already mentioned transforming superheroes, but wow. It's almost starting to sound like a bad movie.

...or more like a bad anime, I guess, what with the magical girls.

Or the ultimate mashup of every cheesy anime, comic book and TV show ever.

Only deadly real.

It's all the stuff people always hope is secretly real and daydream about. Except it's more confusing and scary than exciting.

Some of it's still pretty exciting. Just some of it is the needing a new pair of pants after oh god am I still alive kinda exciting instead of just the pure awesome of being able to summon a 30 foot god or call a mini nuke blast down from the heavens.

I think I could do without that kind of excitement.

The first type, yeah, but not the second. The second is the best~

I don't know. I mean, I guess it would be cool? But I don't know what I would even do with those kind of powers.

I'm kind of hoping I don't get any impressive powers. It'd probably just be wasted on me.

and you never know what you'd do til you get them and have to use them. That's just the way things go.

If I got powers like that, I'd probably just screw things up anyway. So it's probably better if other people get the cool stuff.

But I guess you have a point there. It's not like this is something I really have a frame of reference for.
