[ At last, the big day has come. The Echo party. Sasha was bringing snacks, and Ryan and Bertholdt even decked the place out in Christmas decorations-- they have a real tree and everything. Their apartment looks, in a word, festive, which is adorable given that they're wearing matching christmas sweaters and fidgeting around a bit. ]

[ Now just pretend Ryan and Bertl don't look kinda titan-y and you're all set. And forget about the part where they're having a bunch of kids over to discuss their ridiculously depressing past lives... Well. You feel me. ]

[ So yeah!!! THIS IS IT!! Just for reference, I'm putting a "Start" (ie: for people getting to the party if you wanna awkwardly greet people or so you can handwave that too) and then just saying like "later" or whatever for Ryan's big heck up, you guys are free to start threads whenever/wherever just say when in the subject if you wanna. (so like, 3DMG showing offs and PS3 fun times, etc. go crazy!!) ]

[He's just staring at her for seconds, mouth slightly open in a look of surprise.

Then he blinks as if coming out of a stupor and shakes his head slightly and mutters something suspiciously close to "Annie" under his breath before he presses the heel of his palm against his eye.]

Jesus. So this is why this is like, an echoes ahoy party.

What. What's that supposed to mean?

[ So here's the thing. While Ellie's face generally doesn't show much emotion beyond HERE IS A LINE, IT IS ON MY FACE, for a few months now she's had one anxious habit that's largely gone unnoticed. That lil stress tell thing happens to be twisting around the little echoed-back ring on her finger and flicking at the little catch on it.

She's kind of doing that right now. ]

[He notices, but he honestly thinks nothing of it. The echo he just experienced showed him nothing about rings, or about "Annie"'s secret ring. He doesn't think anything of it, but shakes his head because he can still notice her distress.]

You and I had a similar conversation -- at least, Annie and whatever other me's name used to be did. Parallels cause pulses, right?
