Warnings: Spoilers for Attack on Titan all over.

[ At last, the big day has come. The Echo party. Sasha was bringing snacks, and Ryan and Bertholdt even decked the place out in Christmas decorations-- they have a real tree and everything. Their apartment looks, in a word, festive, which is adorable given that they're wearing matching christmas sweaters and fidgeting around a bit. ]

[ Now just pretend Ryan and Bertl don't look kinda titan-y and you're all set. And forget about the part where they're having a bunch of kids over to discuss their ridiculously depressing past lives... Well. You feel me. ]

[ So yeah!!! THIS IS IT!! Just for reference, I'm putting a "Start" (ie: for people getting to the party if you wanna awkwardly greet people or so you can handwave that too) and then just saying like "later" or whatever for Ryan's big heck up, you guys are free to start threads whenever/wherever just say when in the subject if you wanna. (so like, 3DMG showing offs and PS3 fun times, etc. go crazy!!) ]

[ Now that they've all sat down, it was time for Ryan to share what he'd last learned in his echo. Ryan wasn't sure what it meant, really, but he could tell... it was gonna be big. He didn't ask everybody to grab a chair for nothing. ]

So... in my last Echo... I remembered this;

[ He takes a breath. ]

I'm the Armored Titan, Bertholdt is the Colossal Titan. And whatever we did, we were just... dumb kids who didn't understand anything.

Alan is wearing a bushy, horrendous black beard.

[Jamie comes in with Anthony and Marzio.. he keeps his eyes averted to most and just finds himself a spot on one of Bertholdt's big Lazy Boys. He brought his PS3 as well as his 3DS, backpack full of whatever he might need and more..]

[Voice quiet like the start of any social event for Jamie, still laced with annoyance however. Gotta put on that facade for YEAGER.]

[ Ellie is here, too. She is pretending very hard that she cannot see the beard. She can will it away if she tries hard enough. She can hate the beard out of existence. She can do it. She just can't acknowledge the beard as being A Thing.

She is also still carrying the backpack she rescued from Alan's house weeks ago. Because she has been too busy ignoring the beard to think to give him it. ]

..... [He stays quiet.. pausing before speaking.] I'm glad you didn't.. get arrested I guess. [He's really bad at this 'making friends' thing, jeez that sounded awkward..]

Whatever, u-um, so this is some echo party right?

[ THIS. FUCKING. FACE. This is the face that will be boring into the back of Ryan's head until he chooses to acknowledge it.

If she seems to be radiating heat, it's just because she's. On her period? Yeah. That's a thing that happens. HAHA SHE'S NOT A TITAN ]

Uh... yeah. I would've sucked pretty hardcore. [It's okay, Jamie. Alan's not the greatest at making friends either. Especially when he's not really expecting friendship to happen.]

Yeah, I think we're pretty much just gonna talk about our echoes and probably have some new ones. So you should be prepared for that.

[ What a lovely, neat way of avoiding the question and putting Alan on the defensive. ISN'S THAT ELEGANT? ]

[It's a good thing Alan's sitting down or the force of the Echo that hits him might have knocked him off his feet.

He'd already known about Bertholdt, of course, and suspected that Ryan - Reiner - had been the Armored Titan mentioned in his memory, but he'd tried not to think too hard about what it could have meant. Now, with Reiner's - Ryan's - words repeating themselves over and over in his head, it's impossible to ignore.

Honestly, he's still not entirely sure what it all actually means. How bad was it that they'd broken the wall? Why? There's still very little actual context for the memory. All he knows is one thing.]

It... it was you. You were the traitors.

[The shock and disbelief of one memory fit the rage and betrayal of another like two pieces of a puzzle. He's vaguely aware that the anger isn't his own, but it's impossible to keep it at bay.

Without even realising it, Alan is standing up, staring at Ryan.]

There's my phone and sketchbook, but mostly I just like to keep my things private.

Uh, you got rid of the phone, didn't you?

Turned it off, snapped the sim card and threw out the pieces. Your phone itself will probably be safe to use as long as you get a new card for it.

[ Yahoo answers told her so. IT HAS TO BE TRUE. ]
