I hope the promotion or whatever was worth it, 'cause they sure as hell know that I'm part of the club now, and that means they can probably take out my family any day they feel like it. So, really. My parents are already treating me like I'm a serial killer - they don't know where they went wrong with me, that kind of thing. You'd think it was something a lot more serious than drugs. I dunno, maybe I'll use that as leverage... They always threatened to send me out to California with my relatives if anything went wrong. Like in those movies. Maybe they'll cart me off for real after this.

[A hollow laugh. Seeing his parents scramble to come up with solutions to a situation they were so utterly unfamiliar with was kind of... ridiculous, really. And not in a good way, either.]

Not really. It's the type of thing that you see moving towards you and you suddenly realize you are so fucked if you get caught by one.

If anyone tries to set up a trip, I'd think twice about going.
