What: DRUG BUST.

[It's just about that time. Numerous cops were gathered outside the high school. They were now ready and waiting for the commanding officer's order to move in. The cop in command for the bust itself stands ahead of the rest while glancing at his watch. Almost time. Just less than a minute to go and they could move in. Their orders were clear: take in anyone mentioned in Aurion's report AND search and/or apprehend several suspicious individuals outside of that report. Use of force is approved should they resist.

The second hand finally strikes the golden 12 on the officer's watch. Time to move in. He puts down his hand and gives the order to start closing in. Instantly, the police force begins to approach the high school.]

((ooc: and thus starts the drug bust! feel free to npc your own cops if you tag into this!! and a note i forgot to mention: anyone arrested will be officially known to be part of the numbers club but they will get released within a day or so thanks to karl 's interference))

Skyler succeeds in getting Neku's attention with the 'Player' comment, Neku not being able to help but whip his head around and stare at him. Now that he thinks about it, he does remember there being some sort of timer on people's hands when they're playing the Game...

There's a moment of some serious contemplation on Neku's part. After all, he doesn't remember mentioning that on the network... so the only real conclusion is either Beat said something (unlikely), or that this guy had learned from one of his own Echos. Finally, he bites.]

...What are you talking about?

[ Skyler's attention was entirely on Neku's hand as he reacted to his words, so he only got the tail end of the look he's giving him... which... seems pretty deadpan? He is actually stuffing his hand into his pocket and turning to go as Neku interjects with his question. He looks back at Neku, his eyebrows raising a little. ]

I'm not bothering you ever again, remember? Go watch your cops, I'm done. [ ... If he's anything like the guy he now remembers, that should be enough to make them go their separate ways. He's not one to trust a stranger, apparently. It was probably a throwaway comment, something that will just give fuel to the idea that Skyler's going off the deep end. Well... It's not like that's not true. ]

[Not one to trust strangers, sure, but this is seriously bothering him. He honestly has no recollection of this kid through anything Echo related, but... he hasn't gotten that much with actual people yet.

If they're from the same universe thing, Neku's going to be kind of pissed.]

No, I'm pretty sure that's something you need to explain. [aka get back here, asshole.]

[ ~~if only we knew what was going on universe-wise, Neku.~~ Anyhow, he pauses, sizing up what Neku said and subtly checking down the hall behind Neku to make sure no one was coming their way. Damn it, why is he actually going along with this? It's a bad idea, he doesn't even WANT this to happen. Apparently. ]

... I'm not explaining shit out here. [ He gives Neku a pointed look. ] Like you said, it's dangerous.

[Neku sizes him up right back, before looking away and whipping out his cell phone, starting to text. Skyler might think he's given up, but that will be disproved should he notice that he got a ping on the network.]

"So explain here."

[ Skyler just kind of stares at him, trying to figure out why he went from conversation to completely ignoring him, before - oh! He grabs his phone from his backpack and shuffles away, checking on the network. Yep, that's got to be him. ]

But if you know about it, you had to have gotten some Echo about it. [So far, it's only been him and Beat, and Beat's gone and forgotten, so there might be more to it that he just doesn't know yet.]

[ He doesn't see how it's any of his business. The Neku in his memories didn't seem to think it was. He's not the curious type, he just likes having answers. The idea that Neku would like MORE information about the Game (and Skyler himself) hasn't really occurred to him yet. ]
