"I'm not entirely certain this counts as trespassing, anyhow," Lyall comments, keeping his own voice down. Everything seems very loud in here, without his earplugs. "This is, as far as I'm aware, public property. The subways are not privately owned, are they?" Even if this tunnel shaft is unused, it still counts as public, he's sure.

"Public property is held in trust by the city. It's not actually 'public'; I've had that explained more than once. I'm pretty sure only subway workers are supposed to be down here." He does lower his voice though his amusement is more than a little evident. While he agrees with the decision to go in as a mob --even one split into three waves-- they're still a mob. Stealth becomes a nonentity once you pass a certain number of people. But no point being a negative nancy here, so he'll keep his doubts about catching this guy to himself.

"Though this does beg a few questions. Do any of you sense this guy we're looking for up ahead?"

She hums a little at the explanation, never having really thought about it before. Good to know, she supposes.

The question refocuses her attention on what's around them, sifting out the smells of the people with them over what's further away, ahead of them.

"Got anything, Randolph?" she asks ahead softly. "S'pose we're hoping to catch him at work..."

The underground has its own smells, cold and musty, metal and dirt. There are other smells filtering in, but she isn't sure how to explain them.
