Dr. Strider here. I'm back. I apologize -- personal business took me away from the city shortly before the Dead District bombing, and I've only just been able to return.

Has anyone discovered the culprits behind the explosion? I mean, we all suspect ThunderCorp and its allies, but has anyone been able to PROVE it? What about the bombs themselves -- have we been able to discern what the bombs were? Not an easy task, I'm sure, since of course the police will be keeping everyone out, but it's worth asking.

And what about the Tuning Towers buzzing?

Has anyone located the source?

[Aaron came back two days ago, looking -- well, looking not quite so bad as he did when he left. His first night here was sleepless, though; he has just as much on his mind as he did when he left.

He needs to speak with somebody about this, though. Somebody he knows won't spread this information around, someone who understands the dangers of panic. There had already been an ill-advised attack on Tuning Towers, for god's sake. He didn't want to think about what would happen if he told the whole host of numbered about what he knew.

Ravi was going to be that person, and when he came in, Aaron was busy with a patient. As soon as Aaron was free, though, as soon as all information had been exchanged and payment secured and the young woman was on her way, he went into the small, windowless room that served as an office, filed her information, then stuck his head out the door.]

There were some attacks on Halloween. Everyone made it out okay, but...

Not yet. Everyone has been avoiding the Dead District for the most part, given how heavily guarded it is.

Nothing new, I'm afraid, although admittedly I may have missed a few things of importance during the past few weeks.

As Tuning Towers is heavily guarded, it's ill-advised for anyone to attempt to investigate without a proper plan, or even someone on the inside.

Biggest new thing is that we know what a vermaxi is now, because it crashed a party and almost killed a bunch of us

we also know that the vermaxi are what produces the pink giggle juice. still dunno why it causes the giggles

I have a thing now where people don't notice me, but I haven't wanted to go and push it. It's enough to let me at my birds. By now there's not a lot of people around that neighborhood though. You think I should try and see? And all we know about the source is still that it's underground. I took a subway car right through the area and nothing happened.

Agreed. Unfortunately, Tuning Towers -- and whatever's under it -- seems to be our most likely source of information.

That's interesting. I've got something like that, too -- if I want, I can move very quietly, and, it seems, make myself hard to notice.

Hard to say. I'm no expert, but I would assume staying out of sight isn't the issue, it's their K-9 unit. I've heard that they have dogs that can specifically sniff any of us out, although I'm not sure if that's actually been proven to be the case.

For now, I believe people are just biding their time, waiting for the next chess piece to move and hoping it doesn't have to be from our side. Although honestly, the attack on Halloween night was probably it.

What was it capable of?

That's what everyone was assuming it was, given some of the archived information and the fact that it hadn't actually been seen before.

Hard to say what its full capabilities were. Everything happened so fast. It was a creature of shadow, able to manipulate objects and take them into itself.

Someone is attempting to get on the inside, but they are facing difficulties in the form of the very obvious. They can get as far as the patrols, but not within the Towers.

Well, before Halloween there were these stone snakes hanging around.

I think they disappeared after the bombings? And then on Halloween, Miss Roth had a party!

It was pretty nice. But apparently something that... What did Luci say?
