[Hello Network! It's your favorite not!teacher, Mr. Locke, here with a very, very pressing inquiry.]
How might plastic protect against magic?
[No really. He wants to know. Someone please explain how this works because he has no idea.]

Yes, it's the test that determines whether or not your presence will be requested in summer school.

Mr. Locke, I don't think any plastic could work against magic...
At least, if you're talking about the plastic that we have in this city.
Voice
I've no idea where the plastic may originate from or any other relevant details aside that it was used in an ancient war to defend against magic.

Ballistic plastics would logically help against raw force-type effects, heat-tolerant plastic should help against fire... But other than that, it's hard to say.
no subject
That much I am aware of, but how plastic could be capable of doing so against an unnatural force like magic and doing so well enough to be used in combat is where my uncertainty rests.
[Nevermind the fact someone needed to defend against magic in a war.]

I sincerely doubt that it would work against everything going on here in the city, though. Wherever did you get this idea?
Voice.
[Sorry, Lyall, that just stuck out way too much to ignore.]
And it had come from an unexpected pulse this afternoon.

If you can provide an answer with chemical reasoning, I'll give extra credit.

[He hmms thoughtfully.]
I received an echo in which someone mentioned that polycarbonte, or plastic, was used in defending against magic in an ancient war.

[Yup.]
I don't think plastic actually works that way...
voice;
Nor do I. The idea itself is the very essence of nonsensical, however some may say the same on the existence werewolves and angels.
[And he's met the former and technically is the later so...]

I'm going to hazard a guess that this question was prompted by an Echo?

Your assumption would be correct.
