Who: Bakura & Randolph/Randall Lyall
Where: Locke High, Mr. Lyall's class
When: 7th period. [around 2pm]
One of the many advantages to being suddenly able to use one's notebook to chat with people was that no teacher could frown at you and tell you to put it away when you were using it in class. Not that many teachers bothered trying to stop anyone from using their phones in class any more, but it was a nice sort of insurance.
Especially in math class. He was pretty sure he never had to worry about his tests in that class again as long as those numbers still worked~
Keeping a close eye on the bell he waited until just the right time to swiftly write out first his number, then Mr. Lyall's before writing a quick message.
'Still think it's a prank?'
He added a winking smiley face flashing a victory sign for good measure, just as the bell rang. Hopefully Mr. Lyall would have his network connection open, else the effect would be lost.

I also made out Bakura's schedule. He has study hall this period. So if Lyall has a prep period...:)

"In video games and television shows, maybe," Lyall said with rather obvious disapproval. "I'm not entirely sure who would want to summon teenage boys to something potentially dangerous, here and now." Nor, obviously, did he approve of it. That might disappoint Bakura, but Lyall did not trust anything that expected maturity and efficacy from someone still in the midst of puberty. He worked with these kids every day, and most of them were about as likely to safe the world as he was.

"Not just video games. In everything, even myths and legends. Strange happenings are always the start of coming of age stories. You don't get those very much with adults. Adults get epics, and most of those are war stories," Bakura pointed out reasonably.

"...you didn't say anything about that before."

He trailed off, lost in thought. There was a manga like this, wasn't there? A few of them, actually...

For now, he offered, "Do you want to sit through my next class in here?" He was pretty sure Bakura had study period now, so it shouldn't be a problem.
He's that frustrating type of student who gets 100s on tests and 0s on homework ;)
He was quiet a moment, as if debating. "...Yeah. I think so. Call up to study hall to let them know?"
Who knows, maybe he'd even get his homework done while down there.
...that thought alone was enough to get a faint smile. Yeah. Right. And ruin his streak of missing work? Scandalous!
Lyall hates that :| he's not going to get good grades in his class like that!
I had guessed he'd have an 85. Shall I bus that down to a 70 then? :) He's smart, just unmotivated
Bakura nodded, getting up to gather his things from his desk. "Thanks." The word was soft, as was the smile that went along with it. It was a rare sight for the teen who normally hovered near the extremes of the emotional scale.
let's go with 75? Lyall doesn't even care if the homework is wrong, so long as it's DONE X3
It's the being done that doesn't happen :D
During class he paid half attention to the lecture, and half to his phone. Despite the class being more advanced than his own, he could follow along easily enough. It wasn't as if he got poor grades for not being smart, after all. He just hadn't bothered with his homework for the past 4 years. It wasn't as if his grades mattered. He had a free ride at Locke University thanks to his parents, why was he going to bother with busy work just to get a better grade? Life was far too short to waste with that and despite numerous attempts by multiple teachers and staff driven up the wall with his flat out refusal to do any out of school work that didn't interest him, no one was able to convince him otherwise.
...but a glance back might catch him taking notes as if he were a proper student in the class. Actual notes, not just doodles of fat dragons and smoking ruins like his math notebook was full of. He did actually like chemistry, after all...
Still, he was texting on his phone when the bell rang.
yup, which is Lyall's problem X3 also, psst, biology XD
oh goddamnit I did it again LOL Just... every time I write chem, replace with Bio :D
it's okay, I liked chem better, too XD
:)
"A few things," Bakura nodded, scrolling past the list of conversations. "Mostly just more replies. It's pretty neat how it's sort of like a chatroom when it's on the phone."

He couldn't help but admit scientific curiosity.

He hadn't done any video yet, given his lack of a camera on his laptop, and his reluctance to put his face on the network.

"It's likely different for everything thing it's one. Since in my notes, it just came up as writing," he nodded. "Though it'd be pretty cool to see if stuff written like that changes! Though it'd likely just go to the next page, I'd think..."

"I'm guessing you haven't told your parents?"
