Who: Bakura & Randolph/Randall Lyall
Where: Locke High, Mr. Lyall's class
When: 7th period. [around 2pm]

One of the many advantages to being suddenly able to use one's notebook to chat with people was that no teacher could frown at you and tell you to put it away when you were using it in class. Not that many teachers bothered trying to stop anyone from using their phones in class any more, but it was a nice sort of insurance.

Especially in math class. He was pretty sure he never had to worry about his tests in that class again as long as those numbers still worked~

Keeping a close eye on the bell he waited until just the right time to swiftly write out first his number, then Mr. Lyall's before writing a quick message.

'Still think it's a prank?'

He added a winking smiley face flashing a victory sign for good measure, just as the bell rang. Hopefully Mr. Lyall would have his network connection open, else the effect would be lost.

((I guess I should make Lyall's then, too, huh :B when does Bakura have him? since I think I fudged this scene and assumed it was HIS class... >.> ))

"In video games and television shows, maybe," Lyall said with rather obvious disapproval. "I'm not entirely sure who would want to summon teenage boys to something potentially dangerous, here and now." Nor, obviously, did he approve of it. That might disappoint Bakura, but Lyall did not trust anything that expected maturity and efficacy from someone still in the midst of puberty. He worked with these kids every day, and most of them were about as likely to safe the world as he was.

Lyall still didn't look particularly pleased. "Coming of age stories can happen when you are not in my class," he said, aiming for firm but mostly sounding as little plaintive. "Preferably when you are a little older and there are not animal-possessing little dandelion seeds and I do not have a bad feeling about what might happen to people in your coming of age story. Including yourself."
professorwolf: (nervous)

[personal profile] professorwolf 2013-04-03 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Why? Do you have some experience with that?" Lyall asked, brows going up. His experience was brief and limited, but alarming enough, particularly given what came after it. But mostly he just didn't know what exactly he saw, and it wasn't particularly believable, anyway.
professorwolf: (sheepish)

For a beat, Lyall almost launched into an attempt to justify himself, but he caught himself with a sigh and a hand scrubbed through his hair. "You're right, I should have. I don't entirely believe my senses these days, so it's hard to think things in their proper order. If it makes you feel better, the animal in question was only a sparrow."
professorwolf: (uncertain)

A little concerned by Bakura's about-face in expression, tone, and even scent-- that tended to lead t problems with the boy, after all-- Lyall followed him to the seat and leaned on the nearest desk. "Something, I'm sure. I just worry about what it could be, that's all." And he wasn't going to get into his various theories, lest he give more fuel to Bakura's imagination.

For now, he offered, "Do you want to sit through my next class in here?" He was pretty sure Bakura had study period now, so it shouldn't be a problem.
professorwolf: (specs-thinking)

Lyall hates that :| he's not going to get good grades in his class like that!

"I'll do that, then." He wished he could have a word with the counselor about all this, and how to handle it with Bakura... but he was pretty sure this wouldn't go over well with them. Even if he was believed, which he seriously doubted would happen, what would they do about it? "Find yourself a seat at one of the lab tables, so my class can have their seats, and we'll talk again afterwards, all right?"
professorwolf: (gentle)

let's go with 75? Lyall doesn't even care if the homework is wrong, so long as it's DONE X3

[personal profile] professorwolf 2013-04-03 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's the least I can do. Let me know if there's anything you need, in the meantime." Lyall offered a smile, back, then went to the phone to make the call, as a few students for his next class started filing in.
professorwolf: (chuckle)

yup, which is Lyall's problem X3 also, psst, biology XD

Since Bakura wasn't in this class, Lyall mostly let him be with only a glance or two back in his direction to make sure he was all right. He only drifted back to see him again when the rest of the class was hurrying out the door. "Actually taking notes for a class that isn't even yours?" he asked, teasing a little at the paper still out on his desk. "I take it you find DNA reproduction interesting?"
professorwolf: (pleased)

it's okay, I liked chem better, too XD

[personal profile] professorwolf 2013-04-03 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
You aren't fooling anybody, Bakura. Lyall chuckled softly. "All right. Anything interesting come about on the network while I was busy trying to hammer understanding into stubborn minds?" He was fairly sure all that obsessive texting had more to do with the supernatural than a hangout at the mall after class.

"Or on a Word document screen, or on a piece of paper... though I have found it to be more like a message board than a chat room." Lyall was moderately internet savvy, after all. "Does it appear differently to you, then? On a fellow's book last night, it appeared entirely in pink, sparkly text.... May I see?"

He couldn't help but admit scientific curiosity.
professorwolf: (curious)

"Interesting." Shut up, Lyall did so play MMOs. Not much, since the grinding bored him and he got tired of the rude people there, but he enjoyed the pretty of GW2. For now, he just watched Bakura show him through the conversations. "It does sometimes look like that. The longer the conversations go, however, the more often I wind up with collapsible conversation trees. Unless it is something spoken, at any rate, then it seems just like a phone conversation."

He hadn't done any video yet, given his lack of a camera on his laptop, and his reluctance to put his face on the network.
professorwolf: (considering)

[personal profile] professorwolf 2013-04-04 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Why yes, he probably would, though it wouldn't be hard to pretend not to be Bakura in a place like that. "I imagine so." Lyall settled back on his heels, running a hand over his hair and frowning. "And still none of it makes sense." Particularly not the changes in himself and others.

"I'm guessing you haven't told your parents?"
