I'm sure you're all busy people so I'll cut to the chase. Last Halloween's event was rather interesting, to say the least. I've read up on the events that have been recorded and reported on, but there are still a number of gaps and unknowns. Some of that can't be helped, but some of it can. Is there an open exchange where we have discussed and recorded our various abilities? Ideally in person and with hard copies that can be disseminated and maintained in various safe areas around the city. Such knowledge would be invaluable. Documenting instructions and processes for obtaining Echos and developing a listing and organizational chart of the various people and connections they have seems necessary if we want to survive and thrive in these interesting times. Does such a thing exist? If not, who is interested in assisting in putting it together?

I'm in the process of getting the beginnings of something together, although it's not as extensive as what you're proposing. There is this listing, but it's incomplete.

Very interesting indeed! I'm glad it has at least been started. I suppose the big job with this is hounding people down and making them fill it out.

And what exactly did you have in mind?

Two things. First, a reference document for contacting those interested in researching echoes and those interested in finding out more about their own echoes. Second, another document - possibly - in which people voluntarily compile information about the echoes they've received. There's an existing one already, but its use has been limited and somewhat lacking in context.

It's not ideal, but it's perhaps a step up.

I've been trying to compile a list myself, but there are people who are unwilling to say much on what they've pulsed back. You might be fighting a losing battle.

Then I'll drag it out of them. If they're part of this they don't have a choice.

I don't doubt. However, not everyone is what they say they are on this Network. Given the nature of the beast, it's pretty easy to keep one's identity a secret.

Well, we shall see. The Network has already suffered a number of casualties. I expect they'll increase dramatically for those who aren't willing to work together for the common good.

We do come together, when the need arises. It's just that there are those who would rather do so under the security of anonymity instead of being out in the open. I don't feel we should force them out.

Anonymity is dangerous. Both to the individuals who wallow in it and to those of us who would fight. How can we trust our lives to those who won't show their face?

Good things are done by those who refuse to show their faces. There are those who are only brave when they know that they have that bit of safety from scrutiny or worse.

To be sure. But I'd rather not have them behind me against a monster like we faced a few nights ago before acquainting myself with them in person.

There are other ways to fight than by brute force.

There are. But sometimes it is the only option. And I'll not trust those who won't stand honestly before me.

For some of us, it's not an option. There are those of us who aren't able to fight with our own hands, so we find other ways to help.

I am suspicious of those who beg for aid but will not even show their face.

But you aren't of the people who potentially put others as well as themselves at risk, who make demands of them without something in exchange?

I'm a businesswoman. I deal in equivalent exchanges of goods and services. You'll find I have much to bring to the table.

Such as?

Resources. Connections. Some modicum of safety and security. If it's the police we fear, given time we can probably make ourselves untouchable.

And what guarantee do we have that you're not an insider? It's happened before. What's to say you're not another wolf in sheep's clothing?

It's accepted fact that only a chosen few can even touch this network, is it not? Only a fool would send me to play the spy. I don't have the temperament or patience for it.

Quite the forked tongue you seem to have. I'm sorry, but I simply won't buy it, not without results.

One individual created a spreadsheet for listing effects of pulses, and another one had been asking who would volunteer to be on a list offering their powers and special abilities. I do not think that either one of them has been on the network lately.

There is interest in collecting information for a help resource... one to include advice on coping with changes and other abnormal situations.

I saw the list, it's a good start. I think the problem is this has been made voluntary.

I apologize for saying this, ma'am... However, I do not see any way that we could require people to add their information to anything. It is too hard to account for people who have access to this, and also, it can be difficult for some of us to keep track of our own pulses (since the effects of some can be "dormant" at first).

If it lays dormant it's no issue. The important thing is we know who our friends are and what they can do. Supposedly we're a team, are we not? We should act like it.

I agree! Still, it would be difficult to organize... There are numerous people on this network, and it cannot be possible to know that all of them would volunteer everything that they can because it was mandatory.

Woah, woah-! ...If something like that got into the hands of the things after us they wouldn't need to search us out. At least on here we can narrow leaks down to traitors. What makes you think hard copies are such a good idea?

There may come a time when we are all gone that others will need to know of us.

Also I wasn't intending to include true names or addresses. But we do need a way to know our own and what we're all capable of.

I'll admit organization needs to happen, but how about tackling the bigger questions first.

The bigger questions are meaningless if they'll end us all. This is far too important to be left alone.

And who knows. Maybe the listing will make it to the media. That'd cause an interesting scenario, wouldn't it~?

This risk isn't worth what you're offering. It's not just our lives on the line here even if I do happen to be pretty damn fond of mine.

You don't get to where I'm at by playing nice or playing safe. A lesson it seems your father failed to teach you. What you don't seem to realize is there is a certain safety in notoriety. The police of one city can't exactly suppress something of this magnitude. If it were handled properly, of course.

Oh yeah, that sounds like a GREAT idea. Let's just put information in a format where someone can hand it off to the cops. That'll keep us safe. Let's just defeat the best safety feature we HAVE, even if it's already broken into, and make it real easy for us to get picked off. Wonderful idea.

Spreading hard copies is a terrible idea. Large in-person meetings are only slightly less terrible.

Someone did put together a FAQ already. Do you mean something more in-depth than that?
