This post is why I apped Marisa to this game in the first place
Who: All of Locke City, but more immediately, Marisa Kirisame and anyone who heard about her little experiment and wanted to show up.
What: Marisa tries out her new spell.
Where: An out of the way corner of Chloe's ranch.
When: The night after Halloween
Warning: Wear safety goggles
Marisa was going all out for this one. She had with her a pair of safety goggles she hadstolen borrowed from the high school chem lab, a fire extinguisher from who knows where, a fire retardant blanket, her iPhone (which was propped against a rock a good distance away), and the little gizmo she had inherited from her past self: the tiny elemental furnace known as the Mini-Hakkero.
She made sure all the various onlookers were positioned safely, then closed her eyes, going over the spell in her mind. It didn't seem like that complicated of a spell. Just mutter the incantation, focus your energy, aim, and let it loose.
"Okay, everyone ready?"
She put on the goggles, then looked off into the distance, muttering quietly under her breath as she stared at a fixed point a bit above the horizon. As the incantation reached it's conclusion, the Mini-Hakkero started glowing, even shaking a little bit. The final line of the incantation was delivered in english at a shout.
"LOVE SIGN: MASTER SPARK!"
The elemental furnace fired a thin red beam of light off into the night sky. Just before anyone could voice any kind of disappointment at the size of this so-called death ray, giant rings of rainbow light shot out of the furnace just in time to contain the rapidly expanding ray. The tiny red targeting beam expanded out to a glittering rainbow of light. It was easily a dozen feet thick at the thickest point, and sounded like the end of the world. It fired off into the night sky, illuminating the field as bright as day. The beam was big and bright enough that it could probably be seen from just about anywhere in Locke City, at least as a vague glow on the horizon.
Then, just as suddenly as it started, it stopped. Marisa was lying on her back, gasping for breath. The Mini-Hakkero was lying on the ground next to her, emitting a thin stream of smoke, and a tree that had been clipped by the beam was on fire.
She slowly got up to a sitting position.
"Holy fuck."
The whole sequence of events, by the way, had been caught on her iPhone, which had been recording everything to the Network.
[Anyone responding, please designate if your tag takes place BEFORE the event, when she's still setting up, or AFTER the event, when she's frantically trying to hide the evidence before the police get there.]

IMMEDIATELY AFTER LASER
MARISA!
[Once she sat up, Sanae rushed over, just in view of her iPhone, to make sure her friend was all right. Then it dawned on her.]
[They were dead. They were so dead. All of Locke City must of heard that, and thanks to Marisa's desire to be a Youtube star apparently, all of the network must have seen it too.]

"THAT WAS SO COOL!"

Did she hear a car alarm in the background? ...Or were those sirens?

After, from home
Drawing the blinds, she quickly grabbed her iPad, about to Google it when she saw a notification on the Network. A new video?
...And there it was. She played through it once, stuck, transfixed. That was... was that what she thought it was? She had to watch it again... and again... and again...
AFTER LASER
That'll teach her to be curious.
At least it will once she's done being awed. And blinded, and a little deaf in one ear. Luckily none of these things prevent her from hopping over the disused paddock fence she and several others were positioned behind and tearing off towards Marisa and the other girl who'd been the first to reach her. Though she's already thrown an earnest, "Are you alright?!" at them, the sight of Marisa sitting up and grinning like an imp makes her go for the next most pressing matter.
ONLY THEY CAN PREVENT FOREST FIRES.
"Hey, you two!" Chloe darts down to grab the fire extinguisher, kicking up the soft dirt. "Get back behind the fence!"
She hurries towards the unfortunate tree now threatening to go up in flames and pulls the pin on the fire extinguisher. ...Now, is she tall enough to reach the highest of the branches currently on fire.
Re: AFTER LASER
She stopped on top of the fence, though, balancing awkwardly. "Do...d'you want help with that?"

"You shouldn't stay, there must be close to a dozen wardens headed this way by now!"

AFTER LASER
... That's amazing.
[Rita can't even manage to squeak out anything else... For a few seconds.]
... And probably going to get every cop in the city coming this way.
Later!
[... And she's already running away.]

After
She did, after all, remember that attack from her memories of her fight with Marisa in their "past lives." It hadn't looked like a particularly discreet spell then and it certainly didn't look like one now.
Though something about seeing that attack from the perspective of someone who wasn't being targetted by it... especially in the present instead of in those vague memories... Well, it didn't really matter now. They really should hurry and get out of here.
"I could've told you this was a bad idea." The other Shrine maiden said as she moved over to help clean up.
