when the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake [open]

Who: Rachel and any and all guests and trick-or-treaters
What: HALLOWEEN PARTY
Where: Rachel's brownstone
When: Starting in the evening on Thursday, October 31.
Warnings: Halloween things. Power flareups. Drinking. Probably people misbehaving.

Rachel has been finishing up preparation all day. With the current condition of the city, it hasn't been easy to get everything, but it's done! Outside, the brownstone has jack-o'-lanterns glowing on the steps and stoop to welcome guests and visitors to the door.

Fake cobweb is stretched above the door and the atmosphere is right. Inside, music is playing, decorations are set, there are games to play, there are tables of food and drinks and a large bowl of Halloween candy by the door. The fun even extends to the backyard!

On the second floor, there's a room with a flatscreen TV and a big couch playing classic monster movies. Finally, there's a wet bar that she's trusting the adults to keep the kids out of.

The invitation is out, so all there is to do is wait.

[Gavin came because there was a post about it on the Network, Numbers people were invited, and there was free booze and food. Not because he wanted to dress up, or anything. He only managed to come because he dug out an old SAW prop he'd made in college for a haunted house he'd been talked into helping out with. He just has it on over his regular clothes though, what a cop out.]

[At least he's not here to hit on Avery or anything when he comes over with a drink in hand, looking a little weary, and munching on a pumpkin cookie.]

[Then he spots the 3DS.]

Hey, what're you playing?

[Hey, stranger. Avery blinks at him through the dark, which is not doing her horrid eyesight any favours, and tries to figure out what the fuck he's wearing.] Oh, [she says a second later, remembering that she was asked a question.] Just the new Tiny Monsters game. I'm almost done with it, but it requires a very studious, uh. Not talking to people.

[Wow. Like I said, social.]

Yeah, the ending can get pretty intense. Took me about an hour to get through all the plot. It gets really weird though, how far are you? You'll know what I'm talking about soon though, you've seen the weird tall guy right? They totally rushed the story, it's kind of upsetting. A lot of people online said it was really touching or sad but I just do not comprehend.

[Wait, that was... really formal of him?? Where did that way of speaking come from, huh?]

Uh, anyway. V or W? I got W, but I know a lot of people got V for the edgy Hot Topic Mega Chariz*rd.

[Avery gives him a bland stare, then shrugs.] I, uh, got V. But I agree, that whole thing with Chariz*rd and the blender was fucked up. I'm at the part with the, like, the bitch in the cave with the one monster that looks like a mop but is super strong-- just fucking look at it. [Do you regret letting the person behind the curtain talk about Pokemon yet.]

Any part of a Tinymon game set in a cave is awful. I spent an hour or so the other day hunting for fossils, it's really annoying.
