I got something back! Not just some vague feeling or a maybe memory, but an actual power! This is completely unexpected! I didn't think in my wildest dreams that I'd be able to use magic or anything like that, especially like this!

It started earlier, and since then, through lots of experimentation, I've been able to figure out the following: I can make things brighter, and I mean REALLY bright, but not darker; I can make little balls of light in my hands, but I'm not sure if they just stay there or if I can do anything with them--I really don't want to accidentally break something in my room; also, this--

[The video turns on to a bright, glowing blond's face. And arms. And yeah everything. It's almost like there are dancing lights underneath her skin. Meet Luci, resident goody two-shoes, overachiever, and now human disco ball.]

Which is really cool, but I haven't actually figured out how to turn it off yet. So, um, help? Anyone?

Huh. I guess that would make sense, but I am a little surprised that this is the first time I'm hearing about former people knowing other former people. At least, that I can remember. The only other time I've seen conversations kick off echoes was between a boyfriend and girlfriend having a yelling match.

They weren't mad or anything, I think they just like yelling.

What look? I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. And if I did know, it would have nothing to do with the "he's not my boyfriend" thing that I have heard from so many adorable teenagers in love.

First of all, I'm not. We're just friends. I would probably be much more giddy and giggly if I were; not that I know from experience, but that's usually what I tend to see when my classmates have crushes or when they're talking about their boyfriends.

...Out of curiosity, is there anyone in the numbers club you're interested in? Sorry, sometimes I get really gossipy. It's a side effect of hanging around so many teens.

I haven't really been on here long enough. And anyway, school keeps me really busy, so I wouldn't begin to have time. Or interest, for that matter.

Ah well. I'll just have to get my fill of gossip somewhere else. Not like we're running short on it anywhere.

Oh, cool! When you get old enough to drink, remind me to take you out to a bar. There's one around here that does trivia nights that you would probably be pretty good at. It's not, like, Final Jeopardy tough, but it's not single Jeopardy either.

I mean, I assume we're still going to be friends in a few years. I don't think it's too far out of the question.

That's not for a long time, but sure. I can't promise that I would drink, but I would be all for random trivia games.

From now on, I'll just see if I can out-trivia you. I'm already tutoring somebody, so I might as well get used to the idea. I mean, it won't be more complicated than me hitting random article on Wiki and seeing what comes up, but it's training. [she smiles brightly enough to match... well, Luci, as of a few minutes ago.] We've got a long few years ahead of us, after all.
