[The following is messily scrawled onto a piece of graph paper – the words don't seem to be able to keep up with Mordin's thoughts.]

communication network able to be projected onto any surface; likely information uploaded to local device i have on me - bug? invisible contact lens? brain?

in any case, makes much more sense than alternative– can hardly link piece of paper to network. explains why colleagues don't seem to perceive anything out of the ordinary – had a colleague look over my shoulder just now, didn't react at all

not sure how device got here however – possibly implanted during hospital stay? have to ask – what brought network to attention of rest of you?

The numbers just popped into my head.

I'd been in the hospital for a few hours a few weeks before they got really insistent and wouldn't go away, but I was never unconscious. They didn't do anything.

Nothing to do with hospitals, I'm afraid. I was browsing at a used book store and found a blank diary. The number came when I picked it up, along with the feeling of a powerful heartbeat, and a feeling of discomfort with the sun. I've had quite a few more since.

Randall Lyall, biology teacher at Locke High. Pleased to meet you.

My notes started writing back to me. Or, that's what I thought. Like how this looks to you.

I got my number when my boss was telling me he was retiring. Found this network when I tried to call a pizza place but dialed in that number by mistake.

It works on walls, too. Very weird.

Me, I was with my niece and she said my name in a weird way, lol.

No, no hospitals at all. I believe there must be a source, it is the only theory that makes any sense, but I do not believe it is a source we have considered yet. Something outside our perception in some way. What else could possibly connect a piece of paper to a city-wide network?

[Not that he's saying it's aliens, demons, or magic... but it's no kind of technology any of them know at this point, anyway.]

I got shot. Grazed by a bullet. The wound wasn't bad but they thought I went into shock. I don't remember exactly what they did.

Yeah, it was a local hospital.

So far, it's all been just people from here, yeah.

Not sure how it's electronic enough to need a server if it's even connecting to paper and things.

It's not like paper is equipped to handle wi-fi.

It may be entirely perception, but it is defintiely not projected. Or if it is, it is on a particular frequency only certain people can see. You said yourself, the person looking over your shoulder saw nothing.

I found it because of an idiot. No hospital visit for me, just my own temptation to make him need a visit.

A bad relationship that came to an end in the expected way.

His future attempts to spread rumors about me are why I was tempted to make him need a visit to the hospital.

You got it. [Well, more like the whole feeling of being used, but she doesn't really know that yet.]
