Hi, uh, everyone.

[Bertholdt's never broadcasted his voice to the Network before, but he sounds the same to anyone who'd know him, probably, despite sounding a bit more nervous than usual.]

I haven't posted on here in a while, I guess... things have been busy. I hope everyone had a good Christmas. Er, holiday you celebrate. Or don't celebrate. Whatever.

[He swallows, and there's a sound of his fingers tapping against something.]

I guess I just wanted to... check up on everyone. Things have been... really bad lately, so...

But I guess good things... can come out of this whole thing too, sometimes. [His voice grows sheepish.] Ryan and I... are engaged now. S-so there's that.

It's my birthday too, so... I'm just glad I managed to live another year, you know? All of this is awful, but...

[He trails off, before he clears his throat and tries to focus.]

Just-- I hope everyone is doing okay.

[Wow, that sure is a pretty normal-looking living room you're seeing, secret numbers club. Light-colored walls, a piano where the light from the windows can fall on it, a couple books stacked on the coffee table... pretty stereotypical and boring. Wow-ee. The view stays here for about a minute, then the camera jerks, like the holder suddenly jumped back quickly.

A heartbeat more, and a humanoid-shaped Heartless is rising up into view. It remains in view for several seconds, then abruptly turns and walks away. It keeps walking even once it's reached the wall, even though it isn't getting anywhere, but finally seems to get the idea, melting back into a dark shadow on the floor that moves around of its own accord.

When Dante speaks, his voice is very, very deadpan. (Although to perceptive listeners, a very faint undertone of surprise might be heard.)]

For what it's worth, I believe you guys now.



[ooc: As an aside, this incarnation of Riku sounds nearly identical to his predecessor! So if your character ever spoke with Riku, it's definitely a real possibility to mistake the two. Feel free to run with it if you'd like.]

[There's... a gun laying across his table. It's pretty much as big as he is. Honestly, it looks like a goddamn futuristic alien cannon.]
