Good morning, I'm Linda Williamson. Thank you for joining us.
This morning in Locke City, a large section of the city appears to be the center of a long string of bombings, leaving wide areas of the uninhabited 'Dead District' in ruins. The extent of the damage is still yet to be measured; however, in spite of the severity of the damage done, nearby inhabited areas have been left mostly unharmed. So far, any casualties have been unclear.
Police and federal forces are searching the remains for any indication of methods used and any other leads to the individuals or parties responsible for the bombing, but fear of further explosions have thus far slowed any efforts. The owner of the affected land, the Thunder Corporation, have released a statement turning away any allegations of blame and a plea for information regarding any leads. Officials who have spoken suspect some connection to the campaign of rumors of environmental irresponsibility by the company.
In spite of the attack against the company, the Thunder Corporation claims not to be devastated by this event. President Jimmy Won declares that the company’s plans to move forward begin here, and they will not be intimidated by terrorism.
Those with any information on the attack are urged to contact...
[Following this summation is a list of numbers and websites begging for any information on the attacks, and the rest of the day’s news is occupied by almost this alone. Most businesses, schools, and so forth are closed for at least several days, and travel in and out of the city is highly monitored if not at an outright standstill.
By late afternoon, reports on phantom sightings of snakelike structures or machines much like the statue that originally stood in the Dead District have started sneaking in - and that in investigating any foundation or cause of sights of any such things, local media has managed to make contact with the original statue’s reclusive artist, David Proud, although he refuses to comment on any part he may have had in creating or orchestrating a source of rumors.
In the aftermath of the Thunder Corp. rumors, environmental subjects remain hot and uneasy, with the recent outbreak of lethal illness among the city’s pigeon population - possibly a new strain of avian flu - feeding production at the city’s rumor mill.]
