hey, it's the guy who was offering martial arts training, mamoru

nine pm on wednesdays work for everyone? it's gonna be at st. johns episcopal church -- not the best place I know but there's a decent sized room and some mats and you don't have to pay to get in.

if you wanna learn to fight, or if you wanna help teach, just show up. I'm not going to be taking roll. oh, and wear something comfortable that you can move in.

[[ACTION, forward-dated to Wednesday night]]

[It's not ideal, Mamoru thinks, but it'll do. It's more like a large conference room than anything else, something that the church rents out to groups like this, but the youth groups in the church used it too, sometimes. He has mats down on the floor -- though if you're early you're welcome to help him set up -- and takes a few minutes to stretch before the bulk of the group shows up.]

ooc: probably going to handwave most of the actual training, so if you want to talk to him before the class or jump to after, either way is fine! ALSO, TEACHERS. Feel free to start your own threads! Mamoru's probably going to talk to you about splitting up the students into beginner/intermediate groups, and you're welcome to take on whichever class you want.

[It's late at night. The video cuts in to show a view from a large, fogged up bathroom mirror that someone just idly wrote a number in with his fingertip. After a moment, the foggy face peers closer, and you can sort of make out a craggy, stubbly, masculine face through the fog.

A second later, the man reaches up and actually wipes the mirror clearer with one hand, revealing Robert Knox, local gym owner, who is still dripping wet and undressed except for a towel wrapped around his waist. Do you like a well defined physique? Because damn.]

Huh. I think this mirror is broken.

Summer school got out earlier than school during the year proper, so Lyall had his classroom open from one until five in the afternoon, in case any students wanted to come by. There were a few games and a few decks of cards, and plenty of snacks, most of which he browsed on while he worked.

Lyall himself had some finishing up to do, as this was the last week of summer session, and he was leaving the week after anyway, so he needed to get everything graded and turned in early. So he was busy, but always ready to take a break if someone wanted or needed to chat.

Up to and including fellow teachers, one of which came by halfway through the afternoon acting very strangely....

((I'll have one thread for the oddly-acting teacher, that a couple people can join in with if they want to! this is plotty stuff :) otherwise, feel free make new threads if you wanna come visit!))

[Bertholdt writes his number down in the corner of a page he's editing, without thinking about it. He had gotten a headache from staring at the computer for so long, and was now curled up on his couch in his apartment, the flip side of the manuscript he's working on visible to the network, as well as all of his red pen edits and small notes. His handwriting is cramped but neat, small block letters that are easily readable, even mirrored. He doesn't seem to notice what's going on at first, too focused on what he's doing, but when he pauses to pushes his glasses up his sweaty nose he blinks and stares at the paper. He flips to the next one and finds that the same thing is happening.]

[It takes him a pretty long time to actually say anything while he's trying to figure out what's going on, and even then it's just:]

... What?
