Who: Alexander, Anthony, Bakura, Banagher, Hajime, John, Lyall, Ravindra, Reilanin & Vanessa
Where: Alex & Ravi's apartment
When: Friday, Sept. 13th (ooooh)
What: Movie night!
Warnings: --
[ and so it happened that tonight was a movie night slightly different from the one alex, anthony, john (and ravindra, when he wanted to be included) had grown accustomed to -- namely, the volume of bodies had doubled, plus two. the cats were split in opinion; adhirat sought shelter in ravi's room, while olivia got cozy with anyone who'd give her the time of day and gomez poked around and occasionally darted off.
the more the merrier -- for anthony's sake, partially, as holing up in an apartment couldn't have been very fun (thought alex) while his peers enjoyed (or enjoyed to hate) school. bakura was a friend of his, so alex was more than happy to have him over. lyall could always use a break. hajime had been an invaluable asset at the water bust and seemed like a swell guy. john was an 'of course'; a founding member of movie night and someone alex got along with splendidly. vanessa, well.
vanessa could do with the company of good people. she seemed to get along with banagher fine, too, and alex was fond of both of them.
as for reilanin, he was basically continuing to offer the branch of friendship, or something like it. he'd actually been surprised when she accepted the invitation. as a librarian, she was probably familiar with the movie they'd be watching tonight.
twilight (or the save the earth equivalent of). ]
[ ooc: more or less a mingle log! throw up your own threads, go hog wild, yeah!
here's the apartment layout for reference. they're on the second floor! ]

Is it through the network you know Alexander?
[ though the place is different and she's differently dressed- slacks and a camisole with a cardigan over top, as opposed to the usual heels and trumpet skirts and sleek blouses- everything else seems the same. even with her sitting on the floor. ]
I didn't think you would be a part of it.
[... or bakura, either, actually. not that she knows the boy, but... their age catches her off guard, once she realizes it. ]

Everything else seems the same enough, indeed, that it doesn't even feel out of line talking "down" at her - similar enough to approaching the library desk. Nothing to do with high and low. Again, he feels strangely reassured.
He isn't, however, immediately sure how to interpret her last comment - pauses and picks back up on a guess - vaguely to match the diffidence over it.] -- There're - several of us from -- school, actually... [With a little more starting confidence - ] -- Mr. Lyall - [Glances around to spot and indicate him - then figuratively trips, something hits him - ] Er -- do you know - him already -- ma'am?

Ah.... ah, yes, now that you mention it, I suppose quite a few from the network seem about that age. [ she doesn't read everything, that's for certain. she tried, but realized not much would come out of those conversations that she'd really care about. she picks and chooses at will from the things that don't catch her eye immediately.
she looks to where anthony suggests and catches sight of lyall by the window ]
...yes. Yes, Mr. Lyall and I have already spoken about things.
[ that seems about all she's willing to say on the matter, though. but it does make her think a little, so many others have so much going on- alexander just proved as much with his admission. ]
Are you well, Anthony?

Yes ma'am - [It's automatic and done with yet another nod - and he catches and trips on the internal conscious acknowledgement that isn't strictly honest, even if it's safe in prudence.] -- beside - the -- ...obvious changes -- ...Which are - why... I haven't -- been to the library. [Voice has dropped to a sort of self-conscious mumble. He does say that last bit a little ruefully - not that his specific presence would've been missed, but he's certainly had plenty of times it would've been fantastic to - for reasons of research on a number of increasingly-appropriate topics and for a bit more to keep himself occupied with.]
-- Are you well, Ms. Bainbridge...?

the obvious changes she nods a little to, but also ends up tilting her head at. ]
Is it an illness?...
[ she isn't sure how else to term it. the idea of anthony possibly having something terrible happening to him, as is slowly happening to her- she isn't sure. there's some terrible feeling in the pit of her stomach. ]
...so far, yes. [ and there's an urge, a strange, sudden urge to lie to him. ] Strange, but... I am sure it will be nothing of great concern.
You know, if there is anything you wish to take out from the library still, I'm certain I can get it to you. It's just a matter of checking the catalogue online... you do know you can do that, don't you? [ because reading is important anthony! ]
