Hello, fellow numbers. I have a question for you all.

How do you balance work and school with monitoring our situation?

I haven't had time to check the network in a week! It's very disappointing, because this is by far what I see as the most important part of my life now, but I have to keep up appearances by keeping my grades steady. At this point I feel like I could miss the outbreak of war with how long I have to spend on schoolwork! And that's not even accounting for chores, piano practice, and my biweekly film night with Mother. I'd rather be engaged fully in the "numbers club" than have to avoid suspicion by keeping my normal busy schedule. :( How do you keep up without arousing suspicion by deviating from your expected routine?

I'm not a student, but I imagine being able to access the network on any surface helps.

Have you given any thought to keeping track in a notebook while taking care of schoolwork?

I have thought about it, but I'm concerned with how it would look...What if someone looks through my notebook, or what if I'm doing it in class and the teacher walks by? What would it even say? It's all so nerve wracking!

You know half of the stuff that's on this network isn't even related to anything important, right? People throw parties and one girl was just talking about the boys in her classes.

Of course not everything is important, but I don't want to miss anything that is. Also, I want to go to a party...

It may be a good thing that you have so much to involve yourself in outside of the network.

I go to bed fairly early...Though I suppose I could adjust my sleep schedule. That does sound like the best option. Especially because I am absolutely not going to tell my mother I can't do film night twice a week.

I teach so I tend to look over the network during the evening.

Best advice would be to prioritise. Use the network as a reward, you can check it after you've done everything else. Might help you finish things faster.

That might be a good idea to put into practice..I'm used to rewarding myself for completing work with some time at the piano, but since I already have designated practice time besides that...

I used to keep my number on a sheet of paper during class, and check it on the side... People who are not "like us" cannot see anything that's not written on the page.

I usually just keep a slip of paper or something to the side to access the network while I take notes during class. No one else notices even if there's video or audio, and I'm in the back anyway so it just looks like I'm really focused on my notebook.

You can probably do the same thing during study sessions and just hope that if someone has an urgent message they'll post it with audio or video so you don't have to keep looking all the time.

Of course, but I already had a very full schedule that I was used to handling. Making adjustments can be difficult, is all.

it's not like you need a proper internet connection or whatever to keep up with the numbers club anyway. i do it every break time and i have school + work

It's just that I've been working at 100% grades in all my classes since elementary, and now that I have something to focus on besides studying and music...it's difficult and strange to have to find ways to not let keeping up here fall to the wayside. I don't even really have free time at all except on weekends.

Summer helped. I'm almost never home now though. When I tried to set time apart for the network (outside of homework) I ended up thinking about it so much I just couldn't concentrate. My time for extracurriculars disappeared too.

I just check it on my notebook in the middle of class. It keeps me awake in English, so I actually get in less trouble for doing that than staying off it in school.

Also, I think it makes it look like I'm actually taking notes? At least, my English teacher said she was happy to finally have me paying attention in class.

That, or I lock myself in the bathroom and just stay on the network there for the rest of the day. That's another way you can keep up with it too, I guess.

I just browse the network when I have to be in an easy class or on my phone while I'm walking.

Guess I haven't been playing as many video games, though.

It's not hard. I can't see half the entries and I can't actually help out with a lot of the stuff, so I mostly just come here when I want to know what's up.
