[Naomi doesn't jump into things right away upon discovering the secret network, but she doesn't go through everything thoroughly either; there's too much to do that right away. So far she's browsed a little, skimmed here and there, looked at a few recent posts on the network and anything that seemed important...and she's still wrapping her head around everything, so now it's time to go a little deeper and start asking questions.]

My name is Naomi Kaufman, and I've just discovered this network of sorts in the past few days. Much like anyone else, I'm here looking for information.

I happen to work at a forensics lab. My work tends to bring me in contact with the police here and I understand it's said that they aren't on the straight, so any details I can get regarding their activities and who can or cannot be trusted would be appreciated. What do they know about whatever's going on here? If I'm at risk of being wrapped up in something, I'd rather know about it sooner rather than later.

I'd also like to hear more details about this conspiracy - for lack of a better word - and the ongoing events in this city. How safe is it here? What's the nature of any suspicious events committed by the supposed enemy here, and for what purposes are they done? Is that even known? I've done some reading, but unfortunately I haven't been able to find much of an exact nature.

And if this is some kind of hoax after all, congratulations. I don't know how you've managed to set this up, but it's certainly elaborate. Quite the air of intrigue you've managed to cultivate.

I don't know much about what's going on with the police, exactly, I'm kinda new here too, but so far I've been attacked by a giant scorpion. Also, the tap water's poisoned, don't drink it. Or use it for brushing your teeth, or showers, or anything, because it'll still get in your body that way. There's also been some other stuff...I think someone was killed a while back, and someone else went missing a few days ago.

That right there is a pretty big deterrent to staying around in Locke City. Is this all for real? Naomi's not sure whether hearing this from the boy next door makes the situation more or less surreal.]

I'm aware of the water problem from looking over what others have said. How is it that this is only noticed by those on this network?

It doesn't affect most people, not that obviously at least. I think we're all special cases because we have weird numbers and crazy superpowers, so we react to it more?

I've never heard of a compound that could be capable of targeting people so specifically. Are there some kind of physiological changes that go along with these occurrences?

I don't expect you to know that, by the way. I'm just curious as to how something like that might happen. Here's something you might be able to answer: does whatever is in this water affect your family at all?

Well, drinking the water made me less solid than usual, so maybe there are?

As for my family, I don't think so. I'm the only one of them who has one of these numbers. But we've also been off the tap water for months now, so they haven't been drinking it anyway.

Winter Adamas. It's nice to meet you, Ms. Kaufman. I'm not certain how much information I can give you, but... what I do know is that things are getting weird around here. Tap water seems to make you break out into giggling fits, the police are apparently under orders to detain anyone that could be part of our "network"... and then there are the things we get sometimes that aren't "ours", but at the same time are. I learned them as "pulses", but I think they're going by another name now.

I think we settled on calling them "echoes", now. I understand why, but... it's interesting.

I have to say, though, it's a little awkward when you get something that causes a physical change of some kind... or gives you a physical object you didn't have before.

I've read a few tales about those here, but I haven't experienced any myself. Is there a trigger for these sorts of changes?

It depends. My working theory is, sometimes they're triggered by something from that other "you" that's similar - when I was elected to the student council, I saw a vision of a younger "me" being elected to the student council. And sometimes, they're triggered by... something else. Usually something related to our status as having numbers.

The ones that are related to those other selves are related to what we did to trigger them, it's seeming like. The ones that come seemingly at random... tend to give us things that make no sense. I have a talking plushie, for example.

Yes, myself as well. I've only made myself known more recently, but I've been able to access this for as long as it has existed and received one of those echoes about eight years ago.
