Where: Locke City Community Center (idk there's probably more than one)
When: Sunday Afternoon
What: The much awaited first aid and rescue training thing is here.

[ HOW THIS WORKS: This is an OPEN POST!! So feel free to have your characters mingle and tag around. Private conversations will have to be taken outside (my, how subtle.) I will try to tag everyone!! Even if it's just Ryan saying hi. He's very social, he'll want to make sure everyone is doing ok. Also, even if your character didn't officially sign up, it's not too late to say they found the signup sheet or saw the post and decided to go for it. I'm working under the assumption that Ryan came up with the date early in the week and messaged everybody. It probably went something like this:

Ryan here! Our first (heh) First Aid and Rescue training is at 13:00 at [address]. Bring friends! :)

Anyway, pick a prompt and do your thing.

A) SETUP: People who volunteered to help set up are here with snacks and stuff, getting everything ready. Likewise anyone who decided to show up early will get to stand around and be talked into helping out, dammit!!

B) LECTURE/TRAINING: What it says on the tin. Ryan and the people who offered to help him will be talking about stuff to do in emergencies, then offering some basic exercises like CPR training, how to put pressure on wounds and make compresses... It's up to you if your character is paying attention or just slacking off, daydreaming about sandwiches, or really invested in Ryan's "Team Dad" t-shirt. I'm not gonna write down a lecture because it'd be long and I'm not actually certified to do any of this so shhh, use your imagination.

C) POST TRAINING MINGLE: Where the magic and free food happens. Everyone's just mingling, having snacks and chatting. (For the record, there is soda, veggie/chicken sandwiches, cookies, etc.) Maybe your character is like "wow, I learned so much!" maybe they're like "wow, I fell asleep!" I don't know. It's up to you, go be the social butterfly you were meant to be.

[he shoves Alex away and holds him there] You'll only burn. No sun for your own safety.

[ he's putting pressure against ravi's hand. not a lot, just a little more than simply leaning. ]

That's not funny, man. I don't have that yet.

[ 'yet'. given the widely used notion that vampires are vulnerable to sunlight, he expects it.

JOKE'S ON HIM, HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY SUNLIGHT VULNERABILITIES. ]

[eyebrow arch, it takes a second for the meaning to dawn on him. he sighs and drops his hand.]

[FOOT IN MOUTH??? he's just going to pretend it's not awkward and hope it was only awkward in his head.]

At least you already work nights.

[ aaaand falling towards ravi before catching and righting himself. ]

What if I have to start sleeping in a coffin?

[ he sounds vaguely worried. ]

I know a mortician? [vaguely hopeful shrug, he knows that is not encouraging at all]

[ placing his palm behind him, he leans back, elbow locked, and looks over the gathering without really looking at the people themselves.

he sighs. ]

I didn't think my love life could get any worse, either.

[ seriously who would date a guy who sleeps in a coffin. being a paramedic gave him enough trouble already! ]

[ he looks like he swallowed a bug. ]

[ he makes a soft, disgruntled sound. ]

There is nothing romantic about biting someone and sucking their blood. I mean, if we're being real, it'd be a complete mess.

Yes. [also extremely unsanitary and gross??? but he's trying to help, here.] But still, vampires are popular with women.

What about men?

[healspec]

[cocks his head toward Alex, giving him a flat stare]

[alex you aren't even interested in dudes, why ask that?]
