If I didn't know any better, I'd say this was a very elaborate ARG that's trying to get some advertisement. Makes perfect sense, except for where I didn't get any ads.

I guess this hasn't been the first strange thing to happen to me this summer. And looking at that guide that's going around, it seems like my sudden talent for swordplay was directly caused by...whatever this thing is getting at.

Fencing, though? Really?

Nothing against it, but I won't really be much help with that. It's a bit difficult to carry a sword around without drawing some unwanted attention. [Where would he even get a good one these days...oh well. Continuing on.]

I'm sorry if I seem a little rude. It's a lot to take in all at once.

I'm rambling anyway. I'll just go ahead and introduce myself.

My name's Roy. [He pauses for a moment as he types, ultimately deciding against giving out his last name. After all, he has no idea who'll answer here. If anyone.] I go to Locke City University, if anyone else is enrolled there. It's nice to meet you.

Aside from that guide thing, is there anything else I need to know about? Going on the assumption that this isn't some fever dream, I mean.

Engineering. It's no problem if you don't know me; I don't expect people to keep track of every student. But it might be nice to know who all is on here. Camaraderie and everything.

It could be worse, you're right, but swords aren't exactly the most practical weapon this day and age. Kind of unwieldy.

You're not the first one I've seen who's suddenly known how to use a sword. Not a bad skill to have if there's trouble and you've got access to a sword-like object.

I'm not really sure I'm good enough to just use it on anything. I mean, I only have the basics down.

Kind of, I guess. Still, there are different styles of swordplay. Something else to take into account.

Basics are still better than not knowing what you're doing at all. You could be doing a lot worse.

[A lot worse with both swordplay skill and getting things back in general. Hajime would gladly take even mediocre sword skills over some of what he has.]

Think outside the box, Fency. As long as you have something sword-like, it works, right? So if you're near anything that's like that, you'll at least have a rad way to defend yourself. That seems pretty helpful to me.
