Who: Everyone who is interested in delicious information about Thunder Corp.
Where: A meeting room in Emmanuel's church, same spot self-defense lessons are held
When: Thursday August 15th, around 5PM
What: A gathering of folks from the network to make plans and disperse information.
[Tamara had really hit paydirt when she got a hold of a particular email exchange. It had been a risky stunt on her part to infect computers at Thunder Corp but it had been worth the risk to get something this good.
Yeah, she was being a bit paranoid, but the whole comment about superpowers made her wonder just how much did they know about the people on here. The chances of a mole were small, but it was present. And like she told others, it did not good to have this information if they didn't act upon it and they would need resources and organization to do so. She didn't like speaking before large groups, but something had to be done. She had stopped by earlier to provide Emmanuel the information for anyone who couldn't make it that may show up throughout the day, then she'll show up later to give it out to the general group that was coming.]
[OOC: Going to have a few threads here. Stuff for mingling before and after the meeting and the meeting itself. Also a sign in thread so that the muns can track who was here and just note in it if they showed for the meeting or came by to get the info from Emmanuel even if they don't do anything more than get the info. The only required bit of info to give is going to be their number, names and such are optional. And since it was suggested that we get an idea of what people can contribute, that will also be included in the sign in thread.
Assume another post went up giving the time and also mentioning that Emmanuel would be around most of the day to relay information while he did paperwork so people knew when to come.]

I suppose you saw the announcement.

Yeah. [ A quick shrug, sans eye contact. ] Seemed... important.

[Emmanuel pauses, a bit awkwardly, then:]
I heard--well, I saw your video. Is everything all right? Have you found a place to stay? I'm sorry for not contacting your earlier, things have been...
[he gestures a bit helplessly. It's not an excuse, but at least the network post had confirmed her safety.]

[ It's a lot more info than most people have gotten out of her, that's for sure. Some of the help has come from other church members at least, so it kind of works out anyway regardless of if he was directly involved or not. ]

[ Not that the chances of her actually doing so are all that high - it's difficult to admit that you actually need help, sometimes. She just sort of watches him but narrowly avoids echoing the gesture, even with as habitual as touching her hair has become ever since it turned pink.
Regardless, her discomfort is tangible, seeming to hang in the air around her as she shifts her weight, tightening her arms against each other where they're crossed over her chest. ]
If I'd been really asleep... I might not have made it out.
[ She blinks, but keeps staring at the floor intensely - only glancing up for an instant. ]
What ... do you make of all this, anyway?

I'm going to be honest. I...don't. [if Kallie were a total stranger, he might have been more reserved, but they've both seen real danger by now. There's no point.]
I mean. As a whole, our knowledge is just--too fragmented to see the bigger picture right now. I just know what we have to do whatever we can to stay safe and ahead of whoever's trying to--...kill us.
People have said a lot of things, about--reincarnation, past lives, video games, I don't know. I wish I had an answer. I'm fairly certain we're being tested, in a sense. But we can't afford to fail even if we don't know all the rules. We've been drafted into a war none of us started and no one's going to congratulate us even if we win. If we're lucky, no one will even know it happened.
It's...a bleak outlook. I'm sorry. But at the very least, people are making an effort to organize now.
[this sort of pessimistic realism might be a little surprising coming from someone whose sermons usually end on a hopeful note. He likes writing about lessons and the good inherent in people and the light at the end of the tunnel. But it's not entirely new, he's just not as good at keeping it to himself when he's stressed.]
oh hey it's been a long time so if you don't want to continue I understand :T
[ No, that doesn't particularly help her.
In a way, though, she's almost... glad? As his answer sinks in and she thinks on it, she actually seems to relax a bit- after a moment she lets her arms fall, and stepping closer, places a hand on the back of a left-behind seat as she looks blankly at the walls.
Her voice has an odd, set quality to it. ]
I know that there is a reason... what it is yet, I haven't figured out.
np I'm just a little slow rn

[ She still doesn't look at him, lashes mostly veiling her eyes as she focuses elsewhere. She seems tired - mostly because, hey, how often is it she has even the slightest chance to let down her guard these days? ]
There's really only so long before people notice I'm not taking showers but my hair's staying the same color.
