so we have baristas and students and a vet and doctors and all kinds of people in the Secret Number Club. Do we have any dental students? i know you guys need to collect human teeth to mess with in school and i recently came into possession of an almost complete set. almost complete because i think i swallowed some. haha… no, positive. i counted.

i dont think im a vampire. i don't crave blood per se. but i DID eat a whole mutant animal before I realized what was happening. and then…

you know what i don't really want to talk about it.

i just want to get rid of these teeth but i wanted to ask if anyone needed them before i just put them in the garbage.

Honestly, it's easier to have faith in somebody else than for ourselves. At least, that's how I feel.

But as you said, there are others going through this too. Maybe we'll all just have to be each others' confidence, something like that.

it's way easier to comfort someone else than to comfort yourself. maybe that's why we have this network.

Whether that was the intended purpose or not, I think it's a good use for it.

that's what im gonna use it for.

that and party invites. haha

That sounds like a plan to me. I'm sure we'll all be stronger for it.

And with all this, diversions are probably not a bad thing either. At least sometimes.

yeah I held a big birthday party right after the mine thing. i think it helped a lot of people relax.

I'm sure that it did. Did you cook or bake for that?

both! Haha. I made a ton of cupcakes and I also fried some chicken and stuff. you know, finger food.

Bet they loved that. There's a big difference between things someone makes and store-bought.

HUGE difference. of course I had a few little hors d'oeuvres that were store bought, but they weren't nearly as big a hit as my home made goodies

Yes, I would expect that. Did it take a long time to prepare everything? People can eat a lot at parties.

I spent the whole day prior cooking and baking. So yeah. But there's not a place I'm happier than in a kitchen, you know?

Do you mind my asking how long you've been into cooking?

ah, since i was a little kid. my sister is real good at it, and she would be cooking in the kitchen sometimes when i got home from school. eventually I asked if I could help, and the rest is history. she had me chopping vegetables and stirring and sauteeing in no time

It sounds like those are very good memories for you. I'm sure it must be fun cooking with family.

I mostly learned because it's usually just me at home. But I cook for my brother whenever I can.

they're great memories. I hold them pretty dear to my heart, dorky as it sounds. times like this they're good things to remember.

you have a brother? haha. as well as my older sister, I have a fraternal twin. he's here in the city. in the numbers club, too

I don't think there's anything dorky about it. It's good to have treasured memories, and those things do help in tough times.

Yes, I have a younger brother. I haven't seen him here, so I'm hoping he doesn't have to worry about all this. It must be interesting having a twin though. A different sort of dynamic.

yeah i was pretty upset when i saw mamoru around on numbers club business. but i guess we don't have a choice in the matter. it is nice to always have someone to talk to about this stuff though. having a twin is wicked weird sometimes! when we were real little, we did everything together. then i had to switch schools

It is good to have people to confide in. Talking about this makes me wonder how different it is to be the same age, instead of older. I'd never really considered it before. Do you mind if I ask why you'd have to go to a different school?

I don't mind. I uh... was a pretty violent kid. got into a lot of fights. one day i actually bit another kid's ear off. it was a mess. we settled out of court on the condition I was transferred to a school for kids with "problems". honestly I was so little I barely remember any of it

That must have been tough. Although I'm a few years older, I've always preferred being in the same school as my brother when I could. I've been in fights before, mostly when people were picking on him. Always thought everybody got into some kind of trouble.

haha. I guess mutilating a kid kind of overstepped the boundaries of "some kind of trouble". oh well. it's a good thing, though. who knows how I would have turned out if I had stayed that violent.

its kind of ironic though. that I have to fight again, now.

I was once too forceful, although biting wasn't involved. I'm not sure why nothing came of that, actually. At the time, I felt bad just because I hadn't meant to go that far. We don't have as much judgement as kids.

You're different now, you've got more of a head on your shoulders. Wouldn't you say so?

no we don't really have a good head on your shoulders then. I think I'm much better off now. I don't even really like to fight anymore. I only do it now because I don't have a choice.

I know what you mean. My family is here, and other people I care about, so I want to do what I can to keep them safe. None of us asked for a fight, but it doesn't seem like a choice.
