Oh, hey, there's her weird one-eyed sailor uniform popping into frame and looking at the feed. He waves one sleeve and then sets to work, setting up tiles from various word-based board games to spell out his message.]

[He understands and it may mean more to him than Lily even realizes. Perhaps even more than Raye might understand. It's a difficult and lonely fate at times, even when Raye is with her friends, as he knows those are times he can never truly share although it seems he was more a part of them than he expected.

The shift in Lily's smile is noticeable and gets a blink from him. Like him? No, clearly not quite the same. More like....]

[ Lily blinks a bit.

Dammit. He's perceptive, isn't he?

She casts her gaze down a bit. ]

It was the same. Once. And... then, something terrible happened to him. She lost him. I don't know all the details of how I'm able to, but I'm somehow able to call on Cure Moonlight's powers without him... I suspect Yuri once had to learn how to do the same.

Of all those mistakes that I've seen in her life that I have the chance to undo here, I guess fate wasn't kind enough to offer me the ability to fix that one.

[He starts to move his tiles to form a response when he stops, that strange feeling coming over him again. A memory this time.... Fire, burning, Ryuko hovering above him, crying....

"Fine! I'll do just that! I'll wear clothes that'll dye you green with envy!"

And then--

Tiles scatter suddenly and his eye goes wider than ever before. Although the memory carries something he couldn't possibly have felt before, it's undeniable.

[Lily's expression grows worried at his reaction. He might not be human, but... the shock hitting him seems undeniable, doesn't it? She's even more worried as the tiles scatter, and she leans towards the camera, speaking softer.]

Senketsu? Are... you okay...?

[Something in what she said, something about it triggered a reaction and--

She gulps, and something grips her heart as she awaits a response.]

[There's nothing from him for a moment. That feeling is too... real. The feeling of being and then simply not. It's a chilling sensation to recall and it leaves him stunned for a moment. Then Lily speaks and his eye snaps back to her. The emotion in her face is readily apparent, concern and perhaps something else. Guilt? Of course. She's afraid she might have said something to trigger this Echo, which may be true but... no, it isn't her fault.] [He closes his eye and recalls the memory again. There's that dreadful feeling of vanishing but... at the same time, all seemed well. He seemed at peace then. Perhaps whatever purpose he'd been meant to fulfill at the time had been completed. Perhaps that meant that he was here now for a new one. Returned to the world when Ryuko, albeit in another form, needed him again. If so, then what fate awaited him at the end of this one?] .... [He opens his eye again, regarding Lily for a second before shifting down to gather up his tiles.] THERE IS NO NEED TO WORRY [Maybe it doesn't matter at all. He'd been given a glimpse of both the beginning and the end of his former life now, yet it doesn't really change anything, does it?] THESE PULSES ARE UNPREDICTABLE THINGS IT IS DIFFICULT TO SAY WHETHER OR NOT THEIR PURPOSE IS TO ALLOW US TO FIX PAST MISTAKES BUT IF YURIS PARTNER AND I WERE THE SAME IN SOME WAY THEN I AM SURE HE HAD NO REGRETS IN THE END

[Lily just stares at him a little while longer. She reads the words, she absorbs them, but... he's not saying everything, that much is clear. He's not being fully honest. She know show that is, and she knows how hard it is to press on. Necessary sometimes, but when those memories are fresh...

She pulls back a little, though her eyes are misty.]

That... that's entirely possible...

[She sighs.] No, I've had some sense of Cologne before... you're probably right... I don't imagine he did, but...

Senketsu. Don't look at such a thing as an inevitability, okay? Even if... you understand that sort of thing...

THAT WOULD BE A TRULY HOPEFUL WAY TO LIVE WOULDNT IT

[He understands enough to know that not thinking of it as an inevitability is not a luxury any living thing has. Still, without meaning to, Lily has brought some sense of clarity to at least part of the questions that plagued him. Only living things die, and if that is true for him, then he is more than simply fabric.]

You're right, they are still pretty vibrant... [There's a short, slightly sad laugh] But... I imagine Raye isn't the sort of person who'd consider herself having outgrown you for a very, very long time, if ever.

[She takes a calming breath, and nods.] I may not be a big movie buff, but... I imagine I can probably come up with a few things. I'll throw something together and send you a list, okay?
