I've seen a number of people asking about echoes and collecting information on what people have received, but as far as I'm aware, there hasn't been much talk on what echoes have revealed about the differences in who you are now, and who you once were.

I don't mean physical differences, of course, but... have any of you seen enough in your echoes to have an idea of what your other self was like? Their family, occupation, personality? Choices they made that you don't understand, or seem to be very different from what you would do?

You don't have to answer in specifics if you're not comfortable, though I would like to have as much data on this as possible. Both out of curiosity, and because I believe the being in my echoes is... quite different from me. And not merely because of the alien robot part.

To put it simply: I am a doctor, and a professor, and he was quite clearly a soldier.

[There's a pause, as he considers saying more on the matter, and then decides to leave it there.

Well, aside from one more thing.]

And a more light-hearted additional question, if I may - have any of you told a non-network member about what's going on, and had them react with... a little more enthusiasm than anticipated?

[Not that anyone can see, but Doyle flinches at that.]

Heh. Good idea.

I don't have much of a head for it, anyway, not when it's that important.
