[A transmission appears on the network today, the entry typed up using a laptop as she'd rather keep her identity to herself for now. She can't say she's not confused by this development, and she'd just prefer to be careful right now. Something tells her it's for the best.]
I'm not even sure what the hell this is all about. This is the last thing I expected to come across, and it doesn't look like a joke. If it is, I'm damn impressed! Though I've got this sneaking suspicion that it's for real.
If there's anyone out there willing to give me more information on what this network is and what the hell is going on, I'd appreciate it. I have to admit, I'm more than a little confused right now.
Thanks.

Why hadn't he thought of that sooner? That was their in case of emergency stash, but considering making a four thousand withdraw would probably draw attention. He was willing to dip into their hidden cash. Hannah had been quiet, so he figured she was either watching television or asleep herself, since Elise had already went to bed.
All things considered, he kinda hoped she was sleeping. Though instead he walked into their bedroom to find her with her laptop open, looking at the screen in a sort of intense confusion...a very familiar expression as only a couple days earlier he had been making it himself.]
Hannah? Are you alright, sweetheart?
[Part of him didn't want to know if she was among the numbered too. It would mean double the danger for their family...for their daughter.]
[action]
If this was an elaborate hoax than consider her fooled, but there wasn't anything wrong with a little bit of paranoia. Still, her shoulders tensed when Lucas walked into their bedroom and she quickly slammed the laptop shut, making it all too obvious that something was wrong. Tucking strands of dark hair behind her ear, she looked him right in the eye with a nod.]
Everything's fine. What's up?
[action]
You don't look fine.
[He spoke flatly, a hint of annoyance touching his voice. He didn't want to argue with his wife, but he could feel that it would be a likely outcome.]
[action]
[She responded quickly and firmly, holding his gaze. She was certain that if she averted her eyes, it would make her worry all the more obvious - though the way she tensed up already made it pretty damn obvious.]
It's just...work. It's just work being painful.
[An incredibly transparent lie. She winced even as her words left her lips, knowing it came off as clear and utter bullshit.]
[action]
[His statement was more matter of fact that accusatory. He's not stupid and he knew she was aware of that fact. Yet, he does feel hint of that nagging proud stinging. If there was one thing he despised, it was having his intelligence insulted.]
What is really wrong? Save the uninspired lies for your co-workers.
[action]
She knew he didn't like lies, and she also understood the blow to his ego. She didn't intend to insult him in any way. She just feared what might happen to them both if she told him and....
Hissing between her teeth, she closed her eyes. Took a deep breath. Met his gaze again.]
Lucas, please. I... don't even know where to start. Something is...happening. And I can't talk about it right now.
[action]
Lightly he began to shake his head as he moved toward the bed and sat down, while keeping his back to Hannah.]
I'm sorry, Hannah. We never should have left California.
[action]
Placing the laptop down, she crawled over to sit beside him placing her hand on his back. Rubbing his back in slow, comforting circles.]
Lucas... What is going on? What the hell is happening?
[action]
But picking up their lives and relocating back west was far too excessive and his family would never understand...his family were his other consideration. What would happen to his parents? To brothers and sister?]
I don't know. I don't understand any of this better than you do.
[action]
And he was probably blaming himself. This was his idea. She could only imagine what was going on in his head.]
This isn't your fault. You can't have predicted any of this. We will get through this.
[action]
[Instinctively he grasped her arm as she slipped it around him, though he wasn't in mood to be comforted. It didn't matter if he couldn't have predicted it, he still hadn't bothered to do much research on the city. The crime rates and strange occurrences should have been enough to put him off. But he hadn't looked into any of that stuff. He had simply settled all because his family members had chosen to live there first.]
[action]
[Her voice is low and firm - she's just as worried as he is, though she puts no blame on him. She can't put the blame on him. After all, it's not like she did any research on the city either, and even so, she would have been skeptical about the weird occurrences up until this happened. She knows what he's thinking - he's putting the blame all on himself.]
We can move again, if that's what you want. We can get the hell out of here. Find somewhere a little less insane to live.
[action]
[Between his business and the newly purchased house, if they picked up and left it would come off as suspicious. And then there was the risk that if they left and forgot everything, that someone would follow them and get rid of them anyway.]
There's no way we can leave without drawing unwanted attention to ourselves.
[action]
I know. I… All we can do is lay low and be careful… I won't be able to live with myself if you or Elise are harmed in anyway.
[action]
Lucas lets out a small gasp, his hand moving to cover his face as he's assaulted with several emotions, anger, sadness and helplessness. He practically wretches himself from Hannah's grasp as he abruptly stands. He's not sure what just happened but it is enough to have him feeling rattled again.]
[action]
O-oi Lucas! God damn it! Hang in there.
[Fuck this bullshit. Was this going to be a regular occurrence now?!]
[action]
[He speaks waving her back, his voice on the tight side. It wasn't as though he was suffering physical pain, it was merely panic at the sudden influx of emotions that came with the vague memory he was granted.
He just needed to learn how to adjust better to the random memories popping up. Finally he let out a small sigh, fighting the panic down to glance over to her more calmly.]
I promise, it is not as bad as it seems.
[action]
I know. It still frighten me though.
...What happened this time? Do you...feel anything? Did you see something?
[action]
I'm sorry, darling. [Instinctively he grasps her face and lightly rest his forehead against hers.] It was a vague memory with a sudden influx of emotions. I'm not use to just feeling intense emotions out of the blue.
[action]
It can't be helped. None of this is normal. Of course, you're going to feel overwhelmed.
If you wish to talk about it, I'm all ears.
[action]
[If only because those emotions were palpable and he doesn't quite feel up to dealing with them again, now that they have faded.
Softly he presses a kiss to her lips before hugging her again, burying his face in the side of her neck.]
I love you, sweetheart. I promise I will do whatever it takes to protect us and our family.
[action]
I love you too. You and Elise mean the world to me, and I’m not letting anything hurt us or break us apart.
[The strength of her words are proof that she means it with all her heart. She is not losing any more members of her family. Not to this.]
[action]
His own arms tighten around her and he presses a kiss to her shoulder and he nuzzles her back.]
We can't tell anyone about this, for the sake of Elise's safety and our own.
[action]
[She responds, her words a faint whisper against his skin. Closing her eyes, she takes a little comfort in the feeling of his arms around her, though there’s a chill coursing through her body that won’t leave. That thought has crossed her mind too, and it frightens her even more than the dangers they now face.]
I promise you, not a word will be spoken.
