[A transmission appears on the network today, the entry typed up using a laptop as she'd rather keep her identity to herself for now. She can't say she's not confused by this development, and she'd just prefer to be careful right now. Something tells her it's for the best.]

I'm not even sure what the hell this is all about. This is the last thing I expected to come across, and it doesn't look like a joke. If it is, I'm damn impressed! Though I've got this sneaking suspicion that it's for real.

If there's anyone out there willing to give me more information on what this network is and what the hell is going on, I'd appreciate it. I have to admit, I'm more than a little confused right now.

[He was still trying to figure out how he was going to tell Hannah that needed to dip into a little of their savings, it wasn't as though he only handled the money after all. Though the idea of seeing how much they had in the small safe hidden in their bedroom came to mind.

Why hadn't he thought of that sooner? That was their in case of emergency stash, but considering making a four thousand withdraw would probably draw attention. He was willing to dip into their hidden cash. Hannah had been quiet, so he figured she was either watching television or asleep herself, since Elise had already went to bed.

All things considered, he kinda hoped she was sleeping. Though instead he walked into their bedroom to find her with her laptop open, looking at the screen in a sort of intense confusion...a very familiar expression as only a couple days earlier he had been making it himself.]

Hannah? Are you alright, sweetheart?

[Part of him didn't want to know if she was among the numbered too. It would mean double the danger for their family...for their daughter.]

I can't say I'm one to just believe things without a little more information and proof. [This all very...strange to her though. There this little nagging 'what if' in the back of her mind that won't go away.]

Some of us prefer "pulses"... There is no set term [Perhaps a little knee-jerk; still doesn't think he favors the implications of "Echo".] However, that depends on the effect! Vision or "memories" seem to be the most common type, although they have probably been less than half of mine. Obvious ones (such as mutations), we normally deal with by turning to each other, often through here. I think that people who have had difficult visions have often done the same.

[Hannah didn't know what was happening. At least, she wasn't entirely sure what she wanted to believe. One told her it was merely paranoia but the majority seemed to believe in it. The FAQ was also extensive and had things in it that told her it had to be real. But what would this mean for her? Her husband? Elise? Would they all have to move, in order to find safety? She wasn't one to become afraid easily; she'd stared death in the face and gotten over many tough hurdles... but it was her family for whom she worried. She needed to protect them at all costs.... Hannah had already lost her parents; she could not lose Lucas, Lucas's family and Elise to...whatever the fuck was going on.

If this was an elaborate hoax than consider her fooled, but there wasn't anything wrong with a little bit of paranoia. Still, her shoulders tensed when Lucas walked into their bedroom and she quickly slammed the laptop shut, making it all too obvious that something was wrong. Tucking strands of dark hair behind her ear, she looked him right in the eye with a nod.]

Everything's fine. What's up?

[Instinctively his back stiffened at her reaction, clearly something was wrong, yet she didn't seem to want to discuss it. He couldn't stop himself from frowning. The past couple of days he had been struggling with a horrible secret. He didn't want to keep her in the dark, but he wasn't sure how to even approach the conversation in the first place.]

You don't look fine.

[He spoke flatly, a hint of annoyance touching his voice. He didn't want to argue with his wife, but he could feel that it would be a likely outcome.]

[She responded quickly and firmly, holding his gaze. She was certain that if she averted her eyes, it would make her worry all the more obvious - though the way she tensed up already made it pretty damn obvious.]

It's just...work. It's just work being painful.

[An incredibly transparent lie. She winced even as her words left her lips, knowing it came off as clear and utter bullshit.]

[His statement was more matter of fact that accusatory. He's not stupid and he knew she was aware of that fact. Yet, he does feel hint of that nagging proud stinging. If there was one thing he despised, it was having his intelligence insulted.]

What is really wrong? Save the uninspired lies for your co-workers.

[The last thing she wanted was to argue with her husband. She cared for him and trusted him more than anyone else. He'd been there for her during some extremely dark, rougher times in her life and she wanted him to know about this but... what would he say? What would he do?

She knew he didn't like lies, and she also understood the blow to his ego. She didn't intend to insult him in any way. She just feared what might happen to them both if she told him and....

Hissing between her teeth, she closed her eyes. Took a deep breath. Met his gaze again.]

Lucas, please. I... don't even know where to start. Something is...happening. And I can't talk about it right now.

Several of us might have been dead by now if we couldn't! [It's not likely a reassuring thing to say but even as he internally hisses at himself that it's not one it feels like one; it's solidarity, and it's there...] If we can be killed for exposing ourselves as "strange", then I think it is most likely safest to turn to people who already know what has been happening to us when it causes trouble.

[The more he listened to her, the more that sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach kept growing. He squeezed his eyes shut, pinching the bridge of his nose. Suddenly he sighed heavily, stretching the palm of his hand over his face. This was all his fault. It had been his bright idea to relocate them to Locke City and now their family was in jeopardy.

Lightly he began to shake his head as he moved toward the bed and sat down, while keeping his back to Hannah.]

I'm sorry, Hannah. We never should have left California.

[She watched him, with the same sinking feeling in her stomach - he knew. He knew, right? He wasn't questioning her further. He wasn't asking her why she couldn't talk about it, or insisting she tell him anyway. Instead, he sat on the bed and apologised, turning from her.

Placing the laptop down, she crawled over to sit beside him placing her hand on his back. Rubbing his back in slow, comforting circles.]

Lucas... What is going on? What the hell is happening?

[He continued to shake his head, unable to meet her gaze as he blamed himself for bringing this upon them. Had they stayed in California none of this would be happening. The first day, when they told him that moving away reversed things, he had considered asking Hannah if she wanted to move back.

But picking up their lives and relocating back west was far too excessive and his family would never understand...his family were his other consideration. What would happen to his parents? To brothers and sister?]

I don't know. I don't understand any of this better than you do.

[She kissed his shoulder, slipping her arm around him and pulling him close. His actions confirmed it. It went without saying, really. He had experienced the same thing and knew exactly what was going on - and he felt just as confused as she was.

And he was probably blaming himself. This was his idea. She could only imagine what was going on in his head.]

This isn't your fault. You can't have predicted any of this. We will get through this.

But it is my fault. I only wanted to be able to spend more time with you and Elise. But instead I've put our family in danger.

[Instinctively he grasped her arm as she slipped it around him, though he wasn't in mood to be comforted. It didn't matter if he couldn't have predicted it, he still hadn't bothered to do much research on the city. The crime rates and strange occurrences should have been enough to put him off. But he hadn't looked into any of that stuff. He had simply settled all because his family members had chosen to live there first.]
