Who: Lyall, Stella, and Hajime.
What: Lyall drops by to speak with Hajime at his restaurant... with a plus one.
When: Like... Monday? Monday sounds good. Monday the 9th of December 2013, sometime after Lyall gets off of school. Ye.
Where: Pull up pull up to Aikawa's with a funny face
[ All that driving and patiently waiting in the front seat... for this? Stella rests comfortably on Lyall's shoulder as they walk from the car to a building named Aikawa's. Ai-ka-wa's, she sounds out to herself, her whiskers twitching a bit. What is that? Apparently, this was Hajime's restaurant, but naming a building for anything other than its intended purpose seemed a little silly to Stella. Why not just call it "Food Here" and be done with it?
She huffs a little, but resigns herself to saving the question for later. (She does this a lot. She has a repository of questions about human customs in her head that never quite manages to clear out. She's gotten very good at remembering small trivial things to look up on Google and the Wikipedia later.)
For right now, her head sways as Lyall makes his way to the restaurant. It's been a while since she's seen Hajime... Hopefully, he shouldn't be too busy. ]

He doesn't go up to the door-- instead, he pulls his phone out with his free hand and texts Hajime:]
You have company :)
no subject
Hey.
[There's a casual wave at Lyall, and then a double take at Stella.]
Oh, hey, I didn't know you'd be bringing Stella. Hi, Stella.
[Talking to a ferret is still weird, so Hajime holds up the box he's carrying.]
I brought out some sushi, if you guys want some.
[He knows Lyall's not in the best financial shape right now...and food's always good, right? Something occurs to him, and he looks at Stella.]
Have you ever had sushi before?

She withdraws her paw immediately when Hajime steps out - every since the increased reports of police activity, and especially since Lyall's brush with them, she's gotten a little more antsy about how animal-like she appears while in public. No one seems to be around besides them, though, so she tilts her head curiously and shakes her head in an answer to Hajime's question. Ugh, miming is so limited. How can she be as bitingly sarcastic as she usually is through adorable animal mannerisms? ]

[Because he brought hers, too. She's just impatient-- which he supposes he can understand. He offers Hajime a smile when he comes out, sniffing the smell wafting from that sushi appreciatively.]
It's fish and seaweed with bits of vegetables and such mixed in. You'll probably like it. --Thank you, Hajime. I only rarely turn down free food.
[Especially these days. He pockets his phone, looking about for someplace to settle, then nods to an outdoor table for a nearby fast food place.]
Why don't you sit with us a bit? Knowing you, you haven't had a break in a while, so I'm sure you're due.
no subject
[He's sitting down and setting the box of sushi down. He's opening it up so Stella can take a look if she wants.]
They'll come looking for me in a little bit...and I'm pretty sure the guys who run this place won't like me hanging around for too long, anyway.

[And he's less concerned about implicating Hajime, since there are fewer police to watch him here, as there are at the school. While Stella eats, he pulls out her toy phone and sets it beside her, in case she decides to join the conversation.]
How's work? Busy?
no subject
Same as always, really. We're doing well. How have things been at the school?
no subject
She'll tap out a message before going back for a second roll and digging in. She's found that addressing the texts to Lyall's number then making and deleting messages within the empty text entry area was the most efficient way to have a conversation. ]
well had better not mean busy
id like more of these fast if ye please

We can get another order to go, if you really like them. --Apparently you have made a fan, Hajime.
Things at school are all right, I suppose. A lot of the other teachers and some of the students are looking at me a bit funny now, but it's nothing I can't handle.
no subject
[He just won't tell the sushi chef who liked the food so much.]
Maybe you'll get lucky and someone will do something stupid like steal all the toilet seats. Get some attention off of you and onto them.
no subject
sounds interestin
could it be done
im sure some of the young pups on the network could be convinced
no subject
[He picks up one of the roll pieces, himself, to sample. He's terribly uncouth about it, too, just using his fingers. But he's terrible with chopsticks, and who's to see him except Stella (who won't know any better) and Hajime (who he hopes won't mind terribly).]
no subject
And really, Stella likes the food from his restaurant? Of course he'll say she has good taste.]
Best-case scenario, we get some misbehaving kid who isn't on the network getting into trouble.
no subject
twas an idea
and without that hes got to stay under wraps for longer
if they be smart enough to understand the reason why its gotta be done then why not
no subject
[He offers a grin, mostly teasing her.]
I suppose, though, if you wanted to help, a ferret on campus could cause all sorts of trouble without being seen.
no subject
If you played your cards right, a smart ferret could probably make them think the school was haunted.
[And then a slight wince at the realization that he just used a card metaphor, of all things.]
no subject
ye really think so
cause im sayin no
no subject
I was mostly joking, Stella, don't worry. I won't be setting you loose on campus to cause mayhem unless you really feel like it.
no subject
Yeah, we wouldn't want you to start any trouble you weren't interested in starting.
no subject
only reason im sayin no is because i cant figure out a way to get me places i needs without some help
caint do it on me own after all
ill need a few more sets of paws
no subject
Well, if you ever decide you feel like some fun in that manner, do let mek now.
[He pops another of the sushi, chews, and adds,]
This is really a pretty tasty plate. What kind of roll is this, Hajime?
no subject
[He seems pleased at the praise for the sushi, at least.]
It's an anakyu roll. Eel and cucumber.
[Never any California rolls in what he brings; the restaurant's too traditional for that.]
That one there is just yellowtail.
no subject
[ she finally finishes her roll, positive that her spelling is impeccable. She'll go for her third roll as soon as she recovers. Yyyep. ]
ana q
eel and yellowtail i know but that words strange
no subject
[Lyall glances to Hajime for that one.]
no subject
Anakyu's just what you call a roll that's got eel and cucumber in it.
no subject
both i spose
got no word for either
spose yours will do
no subject
Well, I suppose I'd best finish this off, myself, if Stella's out of room. How much longer do we have you for?
[He pops the second to last piece into his mouth while waiting for the answer.]
no subject
Not too much longer. They'll come looking for me if I'm not back in time.
no subject
no subject
[It's mostly a tease, really, especially since he's watching Stella out of the corner of his eye and grinning.]
no subject
[He grins, both at Stella and at Lyall's comment.]
But they might get worried if I'm not right back there ready to overwork myself again.
[It's too bad that's not as much of a joke as he thinks it is.]
no subject
dont ye dare
if ye overwork yourself youll hurt yourself and then where would i get more o this food
dont ye even think about it
no subject
See? Even the ferret thinks you work too hard.
