[There's a pause on the other end, as here comes a pulse. Just a little one, though it does make Lyall wince.]

Ah. I'd rather you didn't. Apparently they might actually work. -- But, er, as far as right now, I have no control over the change. Given some of the visions I've had, however, the other fellow could, so it's entirely possible that I might gain that ability.

I know, I'm sorry. Just got another of those pulses. The other fellow just decided to share with me that they have bullets made specifically for werewolves and vampires, wherever he's from. It just hit me a bit off, is all. No offense actually taken.

[He shakes his head, not that Richard can see it, and then sighs himself, which Richard can pick up just fine.]

It is comforting, though, to think I'll get some kind of control eventually. And it could be useful. Who would think that shaggy yellow dog wandering around could actually understand what you're saying, after all?

Which I most certainly would do. I would much rather they only suspect half of me. I have yet to get a good whiff of those dogs, honestly, though I'd like one. I've been attempting to be careful.

[He knows what would happen with Bakura if something happened to him, and he certainly doesn't want to leave his parents alone in a world that has aliens and werewolves in it.]

[It helps being over thirty and generally cautious by nature, but yeah, he's trying not to court trouble....]

Agreed. I only wish that particular pulse would happen sooner than later, so that perhaps I could be of a bit more use.

[Lyall chuckles.]

Spoken like a true teacher.

[Though admittedly, not many teachers actually said it that way, even if at least most of them believed it.]
