6th Howl [Text/Friday early morning]
There is a new statue in the Dead District, in the small square on the corner of 8th and Lincoln. It has the same effects as the first in the police station, except it makes me want to leave the area, not trust someone. Has anyone else been by it? Has anyone else touched it?
What interest could these people, and Thunder Corporation, have in keeping people out of that part of the city? What connection could the Thunder Corporation have with the people who want to find the "snake" and shoot kids?
And does anyone know anything about David Proud, the sculptor? I can't find anything much online. There must be some connection with him, as well, if he's making these things.
Also a note to my students:
If you don't see me around school today, don't worry, I'm fine! I just called in sick today.

[[Might be a little irrationally upset about that. But he's kinda been really imbalanced since that whole mess the previous afternoon anyway so rationality is not his strong point right now.]]

I seem to have come down with a bit of a stomach bug, that's all. It didn't seem like a good idea to be stuck in front of students all morning. I'm sure the school day will not be a total waste just because you get to miss out on me running from class to get to the bathroom :)
Re: [Text]
Long as you're not hurt.
[[A long pause]]
Sorry about yesterday...

[Kenji is highly amused at this, and Lyall's coolness quotient has gone up by 10 points. Which was no doubt of great concern to him >_>]
[Text]
If I were doing something enjoyable, that might be a poor example. But since I have some kind of stomach bug, I think being in school would be more of a problem :)
Text]
[Yep, coolness quotient goes down a bit.]
Hope you feel better. Those stomach bugs suck.

Sculptor, huh. Local? I know a few local artists trying to break it into the scene, or... whatever the terminology is here, lol. I'll ask around.
[Texted]
Be careful if you do go. The statues have odd mental effects and might bring on more of those visions or changes we have been experiencing. That, and I don't know if it's being watched, so anyone visiting for no reason may be suspect.
[Texted]
Ah. Interesting... Well, I'm sure my friends would like to take a look themselves. Nothing odd about accompanying them to see a new piece, is there?

David Proud...the name doesn't sound familiar. I have some art student friends at school I could ask.
[Text, computer]
I would appreciate it, thank you. From all I've been able to find, he's a fairly new artist. He used to fix cars. Let me know what you find out?

[You'll have to forgive him Lyall, he's been a bit preoccupied, what with post-interrogation recovery and staying out of sight of the cops.]

Effects being, ah, increased stress and heartrate? The one at the police station might have convinced me that the chief wasn't at fault, if I hadn't seen him shoot my student. It was certainly trying hard. The one in the Dead District makes me want to leave the area.

I... had another of those moments when I was working. And it made something pretty weird happen to me.

[He's happier discussing those things on the phone, since he does already have the young man's actual phone number and all. Besides, that's a lot easier than trying to work with the laptop mic.]

Just a bit of a stomach bug, that's all. I'm all right. I just didn't want anyone to think I got captured or anything.

[Prepare yourself for wall'o'text, Sandra.]
I found the first one in the police station, when I visited there after the police chief shot one of my students who came to the police for help. It has a subtle aura that causes stress and pushes a mindset: in the case of the one at the station, that the police chief is to be trusted, I believe.
The second one was mentioned in yesterday's paper, in a small article about Thunder Corporation, set in the most run-down part of town. This one tends to make one feel as if they should leave.
Both statues are of stone, taller than an average-sized man, and feature a snake and a heart. The first has the snake below, the second has the snake above.
[Also, Lyall is being generous in "average-sized". He's actually kinda short.]
