two 王 video ○ taka candroid

[When the video starts, the camera is facing down towards a particularly non-descript carpet. While the camera isn't moving around a lot, it is shaking quite a bit, and a small, high-pitched noise accompanies it. It almost sounds like a bird is in the room, though the noise is more mechanical than animal. The noise continues near the camera for another few seconds before the camera moves up and over to a patio door, not showing much of the apartment its in on the way there.

Oddly enough, when the camera reaches the patio door, there's just enough reflection to see that it's a small, red and silver mechanical bird, who begins tapping its beak against the door as if to ask to be let outside. It hovers in front of the door, continuing to make the same mechanical caw.

In the background, there's a voice that only a handful of people on the Network might recognize, speaking in Japanese.]

"Stop recording."

[Well...that's an interesting little development. Not something Hajime would have expected the stuffy cop to acquire. He'll respond in Japanese.]

I wouldn't have thought you were the kind of guy to keep a pet bird.

[Hajime's sticking to audio for now. He also wonders what Shuji means when he talks about birds finding him...but he'll leave that alone for now.]

What, it had feathers? Or there wasn't as much life to it?

With the way things have been going, I wouldn't have been surprised if you had some pet bird that turned into a robot overnight.

[Because, really, there's been enough documented sudden robot parts popping up here and there on the network already.]

Does it do anything other than record things and act like a bird?

Hey, you never know. I could've pegged you as a guy with a secret love of animals.

[Okay, no, not really. There's a bit of sarcasm there that should be obvious.]

Something like that sounds like it could be pretty useful.

[He's slightly jealous. A useful strange appearing item that doesn't involve odd physical changes? Must be nice.]
chalicejoker: (Amused)

[personal profile] chalicejoker 2013-07-09 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, it amuses Hajime, at least. He'd be more inclined to be sympathetic if he knew of Shuji's physical changes...and if he didn't think Shuji was a jerk.]

Maybe you should try letting it go, see what it finds. You could always tie a string to it like a leash, I guess.

[He's just going to try not to laugh out loud at the mental image of Shuji walking a mechanical bird on a leash like he's got some kind of weird balloon.]

It might surprise you. I've heard of people trying to get rid of their stuff, but it somehow manages to find its way back to them.

[He'd seen some guy posting something about a jacket that wouldn't go away...would a bird robot be the same way?]
chalicejoker: (Casual)

[personal profile] chalicejoker 2013-07-15 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, someone tried throwing out a jacket. It came back to him. Not like anyone knows how, but why should that be different than anything else?

[He would love to know how he'd developed a belt he couldn't take off, or green blood, or any of a number of other things, really. How might be reassuring.]

It's worth a shot.

[Because hey, the bird robot-thing might find something that would benefit them all. Maybe. If the detective even saw fit to share what he found with the rest of the class.]

It didn't pass. I just got better control of it.

[There's a sour note to his voice.]

You can't turn inhuman strength on and off.

Yeah, probably saves you from running around on some wild goose chase after some guy who's mysteriously breaking every single stack of dishes in the city he can lay his hands on.

Sometimes, it’s the unimportant stuff that turns out to be the most important. You just don't know it until it's too late.

[Now he’s just being difficult.]

That's good. I don't usually react well to being followed, anyway.
